I’d like to try an experiment in collecting mass responses from public discussion forums. Please go to the link below to fill out a quick survey about your opinions on FPS competitive multiplayer. It’s only three questions, shouldn’t take you more than a minute.

This survey is not specifically about Destiny and will not directly impact Destiny’s development. I’m just seeing what kind of responses we can expect from doing public open surveys like this and incidentally testing a pet theory of mine. Feel free to try to guess the pet theory (after you’ve filled the survey out honestly) or wait until after the survey closes Wednesday, December 9th at noon PST. I’ll edit this post with the summarized results and the theory once I’ve had a chance to analyze the data.
Thanks for helping!

5 RespuestasDoes masterbation count for lifting? If it does I basically bench 500 lbs
-
2 RespuestasWhy the upper body strength question?
-
1 RespuestaOP is lettuce
-
3 4 2 Liftings not my thing, but track is, I'm a sophomore in highschool 5'4, and I run a 11.6 100
-
Testing a theory of physical activities effect on muscle memory. And people over estimating their skill level.
-
3 Respuestas5, 3, 5 Above average would basically be anything over a 1 kd, and in other games I exceed that by quite a bit. Skill should always be important especially over luck and gear which I personally believe that in a multiplayer FPS should mean nothing. As for the strength thing I bench over my body weight, do multiple sets of 50 pushups, and multiple sets of 12 pull-ups. I'd say thats above average no?
-
14 RespuestasFor everyone wondering I would say 15+ pullups is a 5, 10+ is a 4, 5+ is a 3, 2+ is a 2, and 0-1 is a 1... Just how I see it.

4 RespuestasI voted 1 on personal skill; I'm not very good at competitive FPS multiplayer. BUT I vote 5 on the importance of skill in competitive multiplayer; that's just common sense. A fair competition should be between players on a level playing field; like Chess. The more variables you add in that are outside a player's control, or allow a player to give themselves and advantage, the closer you are to gambling, playing pachinko, or a tabletop RPG. Are those things fun? No doubt. Are they competitive? I personally don't think so. Swat, in Halo Reach, with no armor abilities, on a symmetrical map will always be more competitive than Destiny's Crucible, or even Trials, because of a minimum number of variables and the fact that all players are as close to being on a level playing field as possible. Sparrow Racing League will be more competitive than Crucible, because comparatively, all players will start on a level playing field, gear with relatively equal statistics, so that if they win it comes down to their ability to play the game; not whether they came into the competition with their ideal equipment. 1v1 me rust. Fox, no items, final destination. I put a 1 for upper body strength. I'm a scrub physically. Someone want to help me get in shape?

Results so far. I voted 4,5,4
-
6 RespuestasOP is fgt
-
It'll be interesting how the results turn out!
-
2 RespuestasI can lift my xbox remote and a hot pocket at the same time, if you don't believe me I will post a video.
-
6 Respuestas4, 5, 5 4 (above average skills, but not upper echelon) 5 (key word: Competitive. Non-competitive, I'd say a 3, maybe 4) 5 (315+ bench press, so I'd say upper 10% of the population)
-
I'm curious, bump for later

Mmm surveys.

Editado por Monst3r Status: 12/9/2015 2:20:56 AMYou want to show a direct or inverse relationship between physical fitness and reaction times on a FPS. You want to show a relationship between people being good at a FPS and wanting their FPS to be skill based rather than team or luck based. (vice versa) Or involving all three, you want to see if there's a relationship between people being overly competitive in the gym (insecure, need to one up everyone, going a little far with the picking things up and putting them down) also being over competitive in an FPS and wanting their FPS purely skill based (aggressive). Maybe it would be the opposite though, less physically active and more competitive in games. Although it's not uncommon to throw in a random question like the last one just for shiggles. I'm interested in seeing the results Dr.

1 RespuestaI wasnt sure how to answer question 3 because i am 16. I am quite fit for my age and enjoy athletics, football and gaelic but i know that obviously most adults would be much stronger than me. Any ideas on how i should answer?

36 RespuestasJust did the survey 20 times. Got my wife to pick a random number from 1 through 5.
rngs a bitch.....
4 RespuestasRated myself 3, 3, 3. Skills are decent I'm slightly competitive I can bench 250 with consistent reps, which is 110 more than my body weight.
-
45 RespuestasJudging by the answers the destiny community has no idea what being in good physical shape means. I can do 75+ pushups and 25+ pullups without stopping, bench press almost double my weight and can still run a sub 6 minute mile at age 34. I gave myself a 4 to answer number 3. There's always room for improvement and just remember there's always somebody better.
