Personally I don't care much for pvp in this game. I didn't buy it for that purpose. It seems like there is a major shortage of games that supply a good multi-player co-op experience and that is what attracted me to this game within its first week of existence.
I didn't play beta and didn't have it day 1 as I kinda stopped playing games getting somewhat bored with lackluster cod releases. All I played from time to time was a little extinction on ghosts. So when I finally did hear about this I got it right away!
I instantly fell in love with the challenge of the game. Almost every mission was hard when you first started playing the game. Getting to level 20 was just the beginning of the treasure hunt! After using a plethora of weapons that all felt severely underpowered, rumors of weapons that leveled the playing field started to emerge.
The chase was on! Then the pvp community started complaining about weapons that were undoubtedly a nuisance but not impossible for anyone to get. That's what bothers me most.
All the complaining about this gun or that perk typically only hurt the pve experience. You want to level the playing field? Get the weapon that has been wiping you out.
Up until time sensitive bounties started any player could get any weapon as long as you weren't afraid or incapable of doing the footwork.
Basically I just wish the pve experience wasn't suffering for the sake of pvp. There are plenty of pvp games and only a few multi-player co-op.

After digging into the books of sorrow. It has become clear to me why pvp is important in this game. To hone our skills. To learn from our death. To kill each other in those competitions is to show our love and respect for one another. So it is described in sword logic. To everyone who says destiny has no story , take a couple minutes and read the grimoire cards. This story is amazing!!!

2 RespuestasEditado por strider367: 11/19/2015 9:16:19 PMLook up this trophy; Notorious: Earn Crucible Rank 1
Rare 26.8%
What does that tell you? The overwhelming majority of players on the entire psn network. For over the past year has not gotten this trophy. Why? Because the overwhelming majority of all gamers don't play PvP at all. So why cater to the minority? Fun fact, the only reason that number is even that high. Is because of the exotic bounties that people were forced to do it for, bad juju etc.

Pve is Garbo Play pvp for a fun challenge

When Bungie got shit on for Crota's End almost universally by world wide gamers, they immediately started focusing on PVP. Why do you think that is? When you hear Luke Smith talk he talks with resentment and anger to the fan base. So does Deej. Then they throw the obligatory, "thank you, we are listening" - but it isn't sincere and they don't mean it. People do things that help their ego. Bungie feels comfortable doing multiplayer so they focus on it. When they do PVE stuff they get eviscerated - Kings Fall is no exception to this. The majority of players are in an uproar over the loot and the lack of the same things that haven't been addressed - raid matchmaking, etc. They continue to get hammered over PVE and continue to focus on PVP. They don't drink their own Kool Aid. If they were smart they'd forget about COD franchises, the Battlefronts, the Halos and focus on PVE - as you're saying, the thing that sets them apart. But they don't believe that's why the majority of the people play / played this game so they try to walk two lines, and are doing it improperly. The second they either focus on PVE or split the gear from PVP (making PVE gear in PVP not viable, and vice versa) you'll see a better game.

I agree. Methinks PvP is just a game designers cop out.
-
1 RespuestaAgreed! I've been saying this for a long time. IMO, PVP should be "extra content", just for fun and practice. And in no way should you be getting better rewards and gear for playing it. And also, why not just limit the weapons you can use in PVP to the weapons that the gunsmith has each week? Wouldn't that be a better way to judge the skill of a guardian, if they all used the same weapons?

It does

3 RespuestasI used to be PvE only until a few weeks ago. I used to raid 3x every week, nightfall, etc. But I'm sick of running the raid--it's completely unrewarding. Nightfall rewards suck. Time Invested vs Rewards completely screwed up compared to before. So why continue? Trials really got me into PVP. Really fun. Made me want to get better. So for now my Destiny experience is centered around Trials and Iron Banner. No more PvE until new content drops. Give it a try

You are not the only one
-
Agreed, but keeping players distracted with pvp has long been a tactic when a developer doesn't have new pve/single-player dlcs ready to go
-
The problem with bungie is that they spend more time trying to balance weapons than they do releasing new content. In the end they never balance out. They just tip the scale towards one weapon and completely demolish another. I'm pretty thankful though because it did help me atop playing the game. I was sick of running the same 3 strikes over and over and over again.

2 RespuestasI love Destiny and play both pvp and pve, however I did buy this game for the pve. I expected so much more from this game's pve, pvp is great as it is for the most part but pvp should have been where you went to take a break from pve, to test and level up new gear. I think IB and ToO are great modes for the pvp exclusive players and it is good they get end game gear, however it is high time the pve people get some love too. Raids are awesome I still love to run them would do so more if they had match making. The strikes are fun but get stale fast. We need more than the weak random public events, the taken corruption is a nice, but I want to hunt bosses in the middle of a war zone that has a chance the drop exotic type loot without requiring a ToC. Ever been caught in Skywatch trying to defend a warsat to have the Fallen and Hive start a battle only to be interrupted but the Taken, that is intense and an event worth mentioning, but no real loot to speak of. Now take all of that leave the warsat till everything is dead but drop a real boss type mob in there like a Taniks or Skolas for the Fallen, a lieutenant from CoO or so from the Hive or a Taken boss all fighting us Guardians for the warsat with a good chance for great loot for the guardians that survived. Even something as simple as a specific item like the flayer mantles or Taniks cloak for the event just to say "Hey! I was there, and we beat back the darkness."

PvP is fun but there needs to be more focus put into PvE and the destiny storyline. There is so much potential behind every aspect of PvE as well.
-
No your not the only one...
-
I agree. I despise PVP. I seriously hate it, lol; I find absolutely no fun in running around small maps shooting people; I like the PVE experience and I really wish that Bungie would build more PVE content into their games and DLC before they release them. :p

Editado por To Flux: 11/20/2015 7:48:20 AMI play both, PvE and PvP. The only problem is that on pvp I've a lot of problems with lag. Also, is not correct in my opinion that a weapon make the difference. Or a single class (hammer... And my main character is a Titan, that I don't use anymore on pvp, it's ridiculous).
-
Editado por bu11ettooth: 11/20/2015 6:13:27 AMYeah they should do some new modes for nightfall tier rewards. Maybe a survival mode or something like that instead of a strike that I've done countless times. But only do it on the weekends or whatever.

4 RespuestasI think I like this game because it somehow manages both. Given that sometimes the management is sub par... I don't think I've ever played both pvp and PvE in one game for this long.

To me I have seen changes in PVP effect things in PVE but what really did this update do to actually get so many players to get mad about. Most of the changes are decent, autos getting a slight damage buff, fusions getting a in damage and, shotguns getting a buff in damage. Really there shouldn't be this much compliants.
-
Absolutely. There's too much focus on making PvP enjoyable rather than PvE. There are a lot of changes they could possibly make. Particularly to the subclasses, both old and new. There are so many ways they could redo the subclasses to make them better, more balanced. Especially ones like Sunsinger. I want it to be more team oriented. More supportive. There are so many better choices they could have made for that class's abilities. Gunslinger and Bladedancer as well. Even Striker and Defender could use a revamp. I have so many goddamn ideas, I ought to make my own post. We need a larger variety of weapons and armor as well. There's several ways they could go about that if Bungie could get their heads out of their own asses. We need more quests, or at least have some of the current ones provide certain rewards. I have no problem with them leaving behind the old Raid gear and some of the Exotics, but they could at least make year two versions of every single other legendary weapon and armor. There's really no reason to leave those behind. The old Nergal armor set for the Warlock from vanilla Destiny, bring that into year 2 with Year 2 perks. The old weapons like LDR 5001 and Lord High Fixer. I'd like to see those make a return in Year 2. Make quests that have some of these as rewards. Make them obtainable from Vanguard Strikes, Crucible playlists, Engrams, and Nightfall. I could see them having all the old Crucible and Faction Gear, and weapons drop at random in Crucible, or from completing Weekly Crucible bounties. Speaking of which, why the hell aren't there Faction bounties? And all the old Vanguard Gear could drop from Strikes and Nightfall. Have the Reef bounties and Quests award Year 2 versions of some of the Queen's Wrath weapons, and the old Queen's Wrath gear from before HoW. Create a new set of Reef armor and class items. There are so many unique-looking rare armor pieces and weapons, even in the Taken King. And Etheric Light no longer serves any purpose. This could be a great opportunity to refurbish it. Change Etheric Light to allow Year 2 Rare armor, weapons, Ghost Shells, class items, and Artifacts to be upgraded to an Infusable Legendary version with a set of random legendary perks befitting it. And upon dismantling it, it gives you an Etheric Light back with some weapon/armor materials. But no Legendary Marks. As for the whole elemental Primary issue, why not create an elemental Infusion Core, which could be obtained from King's Fall with a random element, or from dismantling the old raid weapons from Vault of Glass and Crota's End, giving you a Core with an element matching that raid weapon's element. With this item, you could infuse an element onto whatever non-Raid legendary weapon you wanted.

Agreed. I'm not interested in having to play a mode I don't like to get a weapon I won't ever use in said mode.

3 Respuestas"I personally don't care for PvP" That's why. I think this game should focus on PvP. Make some effing custom games.

PvP is the only reason this game is alive.

If they had dedicated servers and private matches in pvp I wouldn't do PVE ever again
