This raid has made me positive on one thing. Self-Rez Warlocks are almost always the weak link in a fireteam. If you play like you always have a second chance, you play sloppy. You can't save yourself or make up for your bad, natural decisions when that super isn't charged.
My clan raid group wasn't on last night so I spent 7 hours at Oryx with 4 different LFG fireteams making this decision. After seeing ___________ has self-resurected every round I think my theory is sound. Sunsinger is a crutch for the weak in this raid.
#TitanMasterRace #HunterIsOk
Edit : I keep hearing "Self-Rez is for those oh shit moments." Titans and hunters some how deal with oh shit moments not needing Self-Rez because we have learned to not get ourselves into those situations = better players.
Edit 2 : As for the 2 grenades for ogres argument. One decent Titan with Blessing of Light and Touch of Malice can handle ogres by themselves. Highest level Titan should always be top platform on ogre duty.
Edit 3 : I'm not saying a Warlock has never saved my ass before in a raid, they haven't in this one but past raids sure. My whole point is I believe Warlocks take unnecessary risks because they have that get out of jail card in their back pocket.
Last edit then I'm done with this : Every Warlock argument starts with "WHEN I die...." case closed.
OK OK OK I get it. Self-Rez is the best ever and the most valuable Sub-class Warlocks have. Sunsingers need to simmer down, quit getting so hot under the collar, any other solar pun I can think of, and realize this was an opinion based off of a horrible night of raiding with apparently the only Warlocks that play Destiny that Self-Rez every 5 seconds until they can't. #WarlockSuperAwesomeMasterRaceOfAllRacesPeriod!!!!
Lastly, and everyone pay attention, JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE POSTS AN OPNION DOESN'T MAKE IT DESTINY LAW! There is something strange about the fact that people are trying desperately to prove their worth to, more than likely, myself or a bunch of people they don't know or will never raid with. Probably just a little hidden guilt and shame on Fireborn user's part. If someone posts that Defender bubble is useless in a raid, I keep scrolling because I understand fully that they are indeed an asshole. I hope Warlocks revive their body fluids when they Self-Rez because they are getting hella dehydrated from all the tears flowing.
--------- FINAL EDIT -----------
By the way, my Ward of Dawn helps the entire team through the whole raid, not just myself when I die or that rare chance when the whole team dies and you finish a hard raid boss by yourself as it seems Warlocks do on an hourly basis. Contribute some orbs and clear some ADS you selfish, Self-Rez space bitches.

I always run fireborn on Oryx for 3 reasons: I offer to grab the farthest bomb if its too far for others, I offer to take the hit from the shade if needed, and lastly, for those rare moments that I mess up

1 RespuestaEditado por coryfierce: 10/30/2015 2:13:58 AMIf a warlock is using self rez, and not song of flame or radiant skin to become a grenade slinging, orb making beast. They are doing it wrong. Self rez was slightly useful in pre ttk nightfalls when a wip sent you to orbit. Other than that, was a waste of a perk imo.

1 RespuestaFireborn is a double edged sword. On the one hand, it's a safety switch if the team goes down or you go down and the team need you up. There is nothing worse than getting really far only to be shut down at the end and have to start from the beginning. Fireborn often prevents that, and It's excellent in that regard. On the other, it does often encourage sloppy gameplay because you have that second chance. But the biggest drawback is you are hardly ever using Radiance. You could go a whole run without dying, but you also haven't once generated orbs for your team because you've saved your super for if you go down. I don't often use Sunsinger, but I would say Radiant Skin is far more of an advantage than Fireborn.
-
What is the most important aspect of this raid? Staying alive and DPS. If your weapons don't do enough damage and you need increased DPS then maybe you are the weak links. A balance of classes has always been true with every raid and this one doesn't change.

2 RespuestasSorry we can't use smoke or pop a bubble when we are about to die
-
1 Respuesta... All warlocks that run sunsinger in raids know wtf we are doing we have the highest recovery and armor on su singer and should be used at the war priest and oryx in hard mode for anyone saying sunlocks need to -blam!- off your stupid
-
I use self Rez and I'm usually the strongest on my team. Anecdotal stories do not equal facts
-
Radiance and Fourth Horseman would be a welcome sight in the raid.

1 RespuestaTo some extent OP is correct. I main a Warlock, almost always run Sunsinger with Fireborn. But I make sure to use my super to make orbs and for add control, not just when I die. If you make orbs for your fireteam, they will make orbs for you to get your super back up. The Sunsinger is actually very good at add control if used correctly. And then when there is a dangerous situation, the Warlock can step up and take the risk. I ran the Undying Mind strike with a random Hunter today. The third dropped out, just left the two of us. With his tether and my super/grenades, we both nearly always had our supers up. Ran the whole strike constantly using our supers. If Sunsingers are not greedy with their super, they are much more useful.
-
I don't use fire born to give myself a second chance, it's so my fire team can have a second chance.
-
I was a Radiant-skin. We (Radiant skins) laughed at fireborns. I agree, fireborns use it as a crutch way too often and don't contribute, stag+tlaloc (which is what they all use) is a boring and safe combo, I personally can't wait 'til we finally get y2 apotheosis veil (it was a large part of my play style, push aggressively, hit super, be awesome, melt faces).

I've mained a fireborn sunsinger since day one and you're right. It did make me more prone to making questionable decisions knowing I could self res. It's a leak in my game that I've since worked on. That being said I still would never give it up. It allows me to put myself in dangerous places when nessecary. I use my self revive the same way a hunter might use invisibility. Getting that hard to reach revive. Getting killed trying to detonate a corrupted light. I wish I could use invisibility or a bubble to save myself when I'm in a bad situation but I don't have that option so self res fills that hole for me. If you're not running fireborn I think it forces you to play too conservative. Limiting your ability to help the team as much as a bubble titan, invisibility hunter, or a self res sunsinger. Just my 2 cents.

Datto? ;)
-
What an absolute crock of shit.

1 RespuestaI use self Rez and I die less than most of my team. I'm typically the highest light level, so I stick with the lowest level person that way if they die, I can afford to be by myself. It saves so much time I really don't understand why all this hate.
-
1 RespuestaI can't believe you wasted this much time on this. No one cares
-
3 RespuestasStrangely enough I just checked and we both have exactly the same amount of deaths in the raid. (398).
-
6 RespuestasI retired my Titan and made a Hunter. No regrets.
-
I dont main a warlock, but when i use it, i try hold onto my super at all times. Keep that overflow active on my Tlaloc, nothing worse than having to self rez and lose the buff
-
Shut up. Just... Shut up.
-
Editado por DepressedEgirl: 10/30/2015 1:57:01 AMI feel like I play 10x better on my warlock with rez even if I never use it. I die more frequently on my other characters.
-
u can't ditch the truth
-
I always find myself not playing as well as I know I can when I play as a sunsinger. I know I have a second life so I don't try as hard. I don't know why but this is what happens to me no matter what
-
I'm a sun singer self rez scrub. I don't have any problem admitting that. I don't think I'm the most awesomest destiny player but I don't use self Rez as a crutch either. However, I will take bigger risks to try to get the job done knowing that I have a life insurance policy. I'll go after a tough revive, or stay in the heat a little longer than I should to try to down an enemy. But I also burn down as many adds as possible once revived to create orbs and clear trash. Radiance is an orb making machine. If you think that's selfish or scrubbish, then that's like your opinion man... At the end of the day, I play my toon to have fun. Same reason I play any video game. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Lol at worlocks clearing ads. Try Thor hammer yet? Game over ads
-
i mostly only use it for self rez (mostly cause i cant kill things fast enough without people taking my kills) but you know what? it doesnt make me a bad player because of it in a way it makes me a better player its nice to have an extra life when i have to revive people after they stupidly run into a huge group of enemies, the fire team is almost done killing a boss and everyone dies, and when i die and no one can revive me
