Exactly what needed to be said! I play hard in the Iron Banner and lose 8 games in a row with none of them being close... And it now has the only original gear compared to all this dull Taken King crap. With not gaining anything towards the goal that I just wasted 3 hours trying to get close to is just stupid. And why take all the hard earned progress we made with THE SAME GAME and make it obsolete and all the new gear so bland! I had hope for this game once, now it's true colours have shown, which is a flat money grabbing game. Thought you'd be better than this Bungie.

See, right there is what I've always tried to understand... how making things worse made them better. The fanboy logic kept saying that making Gjallarhorn worse would make Dragon's Breath viable (pre-TTK), which defies all logic in the real world... if your Dragon's Breath was viable, it would have nothing to do with whether or not Gjallarhorn was better. But then again, that may just be PVP fanboy logic, which is a much more refined and focused version of the same. To me, that really is the core of it... the idea of "if it's good for PVP, it's good for everybody." Absolutely false. So TTK drops and all year-one weapons pass on, which had to happen to make people try the new weapons, which we now know pale by comparison. New players won't care (yet) because they don't know better, but old players feel the hole left in their game. They also know the great evil will return, a culling of all mature weapons and armor, and it all gets reset at an even lower level. That might be fun to some, but to me personally it was a frustration, and not a small one. Any sense of immersion in the game is constantly disrupted by the periodic resets. Things don't evolve; they either devolve or disappear entirely. The Destiny universe doesn't grow; the magnifying lens to look at it is merely moved to a different part of the picture. While the lens is focused on any part of the big picture (as if there is one!), the other parts cannot be used. Rest assured, with the next DLC, the lens will move and everything you have now will be disabled or diminished in some way. There is nothing in this game that ties together. There is no flow. There is no logic or reason to go into the universe and "kill stuph". There is no reward other than to grind for stuff that will be diminished or removed. It is a pointless venture with no aesthetic value or purpose beyond beautiful scenery and smooth shooting mechanics. Even with those elements, Destiny is simply empty, devoid of any semblance of soul.
