If this is the cheese, wtf is the right way
Ikr? They used the word cheese to attract scrubs (the majority of destiny players)

The right way is essentially the same but you're supposed to be dropping all the orbs on the ceiling. every damage phase you're supposed to be attempting to drop all 6 orbs, which of course requires a shit ton of positioning on both the runners and dps team. This method only utilizes 2 orbs. i'm a bit worried you'll be running into enrage timers trying this though. you really need the dmg from at least 3-4 of those orbs per phase.

This is an issue for some team, this strat requires high light/ high attack specials and heavy such as 290+ snipers. My team Would usually rotate 4 and then rotate to a 5th or 6th if everything was going smooth. We would start at the front right orb then rotate the the front left orb, we would rotate to each orb to the left in a circle in till we had all 6 or if things started to get sketchy, we got him under half health in one rotation once. Take note that we all had 290+ snipers though so with them hitting 50K crits and melting point and bows being used helped a lot as well.

Why drop more than one orb though?
-
Because each orb drops a pool on the ground that lasts around the same amount of time as golgoroths attention once you gain his gaze and you can swap that gaze back and forth 6 times before golgoroth closes his back and the damage phase is over. You SHOULD be trying to maximize the amount of damage by transfering the gaze at 2-3 seconds and do it 6 times, each time dropping a bubble to give u the buff from the pool letting u deal damage. The way they were doing it was somewhat effective but i'm still really concerned about the enrage timer. Two pools just doesn't seem like enough. I say this not out of speculation but after having completed it myself. They were getting really close to the enrage there and i'm presuming the only reason they actually got it done was everyone having a sniper 295+. If you don't have EVERYONE on your dps team using a 295+ sniper, i can't imagine this working. just not enough dps put out.

We did it in 4 tries this way. Though we hadn't heard of any way to do it, this is just what we came up with. We had 2 under 280 and only one over 290. Only 2 people had snipers. He did enrage one of those times, but overall we didn't even spend an hour here.
-
You most likely had a bunch of hunters with you as well I'm presuming ? Our drop was in 3 phases (only killing taken once) and well before the timer even mentioned enrage being close. Though our lowest light lvl at the time was me as one of the runners at 291 and highest being 295. 4 people with snipers. The change from going 1-2 pools then adds with no snipers to all 6 pools + snipers is the defining factor in how we got our clear. If you do it perfect you can get around 42% of his hp in the very first damage phase. Each dps guy put out around 4-5 mil damage with 295 snipers. The times before the switch we just kept running into enrage because we couldn't put out enough dps with just primaries and didn't have enough time in the pools while transfering the gaze. Even with 3 hunters chaining shadowshot with black hole for increased duration.

We did 3 phases as well. The key for us ended up just being everyone hitting criticals with special or heavy. We had 2 nighstalkers tethering, and 2 Sunbreakers using their melee for increased allies damage. Everyone else making sure they kept their supers used so there were more orbs for the hunters.
-
AHHHH yes, the 2 peyton mannings punching him with melting point is such a substantial amount of damage it's insane. Unfortunately we only had one sunbro and that was me as the primary runner so I couldn't punch him at all. That makes much more sense with the lack of sniper rifle dps though and most def something i'll be making the assholes in my party do once they wanna run their titans through.
-
Yezzir. It also helps if the tether is close enough to chain any thrall or taken approaching you, so they die by simply being chained from the dps on the boss
-
I've heard also that the cursed thrall are capable of dealing damage to Golgo himself as well but we never got to notice it and I was too busy being the runner to even try and test it myself.
