Be careful grinding all your new exotics via Three of Coins.
If you use individual Three of Coins on the Gatelord over and over you can easily grind 7 exotics per hour. Yes, this is fairly easy loot. But i just wanted to warn everybody about burning through your content too quickly. Exotics are supposed to be fabled rewards, these just feel hollow. Exploit at your own risk.
Edit- Deej and Cosmo are aware of the problem. No fix for the immediate future so, all I ask is: don't blow through your content too quickly. For those who have little time to play destiny, this could be an opportunity to get some good gear. Just... Easy guys... The DLC is three days old...

7 RespuestasThe excitement of the hunt was driven from me in year 1. All of those hours spent in persuit of the most rare was for nothing. So I say why wait to get them. The longer it takes the less time we will have to enjoy them before we are forced to scrap them, yet again.

Exotics have never been the rarest thing in the game. Legendary equipment with bad ass perks and correct buffs for your character type are.this game even more so. Exotics will be used as infusion buffers for legendary alot. Also i never got any of the HoW exotics and almost all my exotic came from xur year one excluding all the bounty guns and exclusive i managed to get. I once got truth three drops in a row. Im glad to have gotten some of the best new gear from these coins, any word if they will remain available?

You can only get certain items from three of coins anyways it's not like you can get all of them

The exotics is a small part of the game I think. The hard stuff is the raid gear. And to be honest most of the exotic drops I got from it was year 1 gear that I think should have been transferred over to year 2 some how, maybe through a quest line. They seem to have been quest happy in the Expansion. Why not make it fun instead of having to grid a crap ton to get legendary marks? So I think the three of coins was good for how long we had it. I think there would have been nothing worse then raiding for hours only to get a year 1 gear for year 2.

Extra points: the death loot debuff seems to affect Three of Coins, which means less efficiency on a per-kill basis. You get a lot of Exotics in a short period, but Striking for all the Three of Coins you have is a much higher per-coin Exotic drop rate, plus many more blues and purples. Remember? They made it so that corpse-grinding 'we've woken the hive!' and other exploitable points saw reduced rewards for several minutes after a full wipe? That fix is still there, folks.

2 RespuestasThe only players that are really going to benefit from this are year 1 players who have managed to stockpile a large amount of coins, in fact it's probably kind of reward year 1 players were after. The only warning I would give is that apparently after you hit 300 light, the exotic engrams have a chance to be 310 attack / defence. So I would advise not to burn through them too quickly for that reason.

I completely agree with you. I heard of the bug and didn't bother with it. Then I bought 7 exotic helmet engrams from Xur to try and get The Stag helmet for my warlock and was SO mad. Decrypted all of them and I got 3 Lights Beyond Nemesis and 4 Obsidian Minds. I was Furious. In a blackout fit of rage (not really but I was mad) I spent every last one of my strange coins on three of coins and went HAM in one sitting on the scourge of winter mission. Total I got about 20-25 exotic engrams (including The Stag on my very LAST engram). Took around 2 hours. I am still salty that I had to go this route.

I missed a few... Mostly I received my old exotics back that I otherwise would have needed to grind for. There is enough content in the game now that I will not miss the RNG gear collection grind. After all, what else would we have done with all those strange coins? Turns out it was worth it running weeklies 3x per week out of habit. :-)
