As a 55 year old Level 34 Titan (first), Level 34 Warlock (second) and Level 34 Hunter (third); Destiny is my most played game ever. By far. That's from an old fart that started a lifelong gaming passion by dropping quarters (a lot of money at the time) into PONG (all bow at that name). Then came Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pac-Man, on and on and on. 8 bit, 16 bit, 32 bit, 64 bit consoles, commodores, jaguars, hand-helds, blah blah blah. I couldn't count the number of systems I've owned, or the hundreds of games I've owned and played. Don't get me wrong; I've been hooked (bad) on many of them in the past. My daughter and I (3 34s herself) played through the original HALO (another bow) split-screen while sitting together on the floor. She could hardly hold that huge controller. We play Destiny together now (of course) and she out-plays the fool out of me (I'm SO proud!).
Anyway, I bought Destiny without any knowledge other than it was a FPS from Bungie. SOO glad I did! I'm slower now and play more to my strengths (soloing NFs and such. Things that require patience, strategy and more patience). Rather than fast-pace reflex (PVP) stuff.
I'm gonna be playing video games a good 30 years more and I hope to see you guardians out in the wild for a long time to come!!
(this was such a great post I couldn't help my long winded reply)

I am a 58-year-old guardian who also began with PONG and the arcades, winding my way through the Com64 text adventures, Atari systems, ColecoVision, the original PlayStation, PS2, and on and on to my Xbox One. I played Destiny's beta and was there on Launch Day. I left the game in November, having spent my time as a solo player, for AC Unity and Far Cry 4, but I came back for Crota, found a clan, and learned the proper way to play Destiny: in the community. There's never been a gaming experience like Destiny for me. The game has had its issues and they appear to get addressed. Somebody on the other end is listening. That aside, it's the experience that keeps me coming back every night and many weekend hours. It's the community. You men and women who are equally gripped by the experience. My peers look at me as if I've lost my mind when I describe how I spend my free time. Their loss. I hope everyone has a smooth download experience (thank the gods for hard-wired connection!!) and has a great time in 2.0. Quoting more visible guardian: "I'll see you started."

Editado por Valencewolf: 9/8/2015 9:56:44 PMI myself started on a Pong console, though you've got a few years on me! My fondest memories are of Adventure, Berserk, and River Raid on the Atari 2600. Games sure have come a long way...
