Now gather around children, and listen well, for I have a story, I need to tell:
After Halo ODST, Bungie split into 3 parts, one working on reach, one working on a new Sci-Fi game, and another on a Fantasy Game.
Reach, we already know.
The other two were at a split point: How would they incorporate this? One of the devs, took the best of Ideas from both sides, and eventually came up with Destiny
They pitched the idea to Microsoft, who didn't want it, if it failed, to ruin their rep.
PSN was the same, so they went to Activision, who helped pitch the idea to PlayStation, due to them swapping to that.
Activision made it work, and found a way to make some extra $$$ at the same time...DLCs
At this point, a lot of Devs started quitting, and more joined in. Deej around this time, came and became Community Manager, and they reworked the game.
After that, we get Destiny, with cut Disc Content.
None of it was Bungie's fault, blame Microsoft, PlayStation, and Activision.

1. Sony would not have turned down an innovative game of that magnitude especially as an exclusive in their struggling Playstation market. 2. Where are your citations? 3. Activision is the publishing company and therefore is the one who is solely responsible for destiny's content capacity. The devs can develop everything but if they don't have permission from the owners of destiny (Activision look up the contract) then that content will sit idle. 4. Sony and Microsoft have both done things to entice people to transfer destiny up to the next gen (backwards compatibility, progress transfer, lower upgrade cost, and with Sony the exclusives) it's Activision who insists on keeping the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions active which hinders not only development, but online capabilities. Since there is no economic motive to invest in the dedicated servers for last gen consoles, who are getting phased out by next year. 5. I agree with you that it's hardly bungie's fault due to legal and binding reasons for why the game came out the way it did, why the updates are the way they are, and why the process of releasing content and game updates is staggered the way that it is. To think bungie is an inept or greedy company is asinine, bungie is not inept (refer to halo series and destiny by no means inept programming, graphics, etc) nor are they greedy. If they were greedy why would they not stay with Microsoft to continue to shit out halo sequels for easy money?

4 RespuestasOK I was following your article well until you state to blame MS and Sony for destiny. What the hell? Sony and MS didn't make destiny! Bungie did with a lot of major decisions made by Activision. For the record Ms didn't want Bungie to leave. It was all on Bungie!!

Bungie isn't some helpless little boy in the middle of the street cold and hungry. They are a grown man with chores, a cool car, and a whole schedule to follow, and in that schedule is a job. They made the conscious decision to partner with the bad guy who's been churning out CoD since forever now. You're just a dumb pigeon who eats whatever grown man bungie tosses at you
