Necrochasm Needs to Come to Year Two
I'm going to keep this professional and exclude all extreme and vulgar emotions currently being felt. Hopefully it will increase Bungie's attention.
Necrochasm MUST be ascendable to Year Two status. Let me explain why it deserves it, likely more so than any other Exotic.
Necrochasm is likely the most difficult and time-consuming weapon to obtain. Firstly, one must grind for Husk of the Pit. This could take anywhere from a few minutes to several weeks. Especially considering that, for a time, it was literally impossible to obtain. Bungie only fixed that a week or so ago.
Secondly, one must grind Eris bounties in order to attain the appropriate rank to buy an item from her. Rank 3, if I remember correctly. This process typically took about two weeks.
Thirdly, one must grind Hard Crota who knows how many times for the Crux of Crota to drop.
Then, one has Necrochasm, but the game's not over. Necrochasm was one of the WORST Exotics to ever exist. It was horrible, especially for a Raid Exotic.
It only took SEVERAL MONTHS for Bungie to acknowledge this and decide to buff the Hell out of it. That's great, but there is a problem. It will NOT be coming to Year Two. This is highly illogical and quite frankly, pardon my language, is beyond bullshit.
Why would you even bother to buff it if you are just going to render it obselete anyways? We will never know how powerful Necrochasm has become.
Don't give me that, "you can still use it in Year One activities", crap. What is the point in Year One activities? "For fun". Sorry, but nothing is fun if all efforts are going to be futile and mean nothing. Besides, if one does decide to use a Year One weapon, what will it likely be? Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Fang of Ir Yut, Gjallarhorn, and just about anything else Bungie decides to leave behind.
To sum it up, Necrochasm has gone through too much to be left behind. It needs to be brought to Year Two status.

15 RespuestasI have a theory... Bungie isn't that dumb. They know how hard it is to get this weapon! It is by far the hardest exotic to obtain in my opinion... And bungie also knows that it sucks. The necrochasm is the ultimate weapon from everything that crota has to offer (even if it sucks). But the taken king is directly related to crota. What if the necrochasm will morph into something else? Maybe the greatest end game primary weapon?

I'm apparently in the minority, in that I do not feel all exotics should carry forward into (past) year two. However, you make an extremely good case for the Necrochasm, and I agree 100%.

Agreed 100%, I have 3. I had a lot of faith in bunjie when I acquired them months ago. I would hope it was well placed 😉

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't they say in the feed that they can bring other exotics forward into year 2 at later dates?

I should be until the end of destiny because if you don't remember you paid for the dlc dark below the content is going to be taken away just like your money.

I don't own this gun but I know a lot of people work and grind to get that Crux and the gun sucked for the longest time. It needs to be carried to year 2. Bungie needs to stop giving us cookies only to take them away when we are about to take a bite.

I believe Necrochasm should be brought forward as well. It's a shame that it's been so difficult to obtain (I've had Husk forever and played Hard Crota forever, never gotten Crux) and so damn awful of a weapon. So now they're buffing it, but then leaving it behind. It's a shame that hardly anyone will ever use it.

Could bump this enough. I'm my opinion all raid gear, especially raid exotics, should be carried over to Year Two. They are basically the most important weapons in the game since they are proof of finishing end game content and defeating the raids on Hard.

A weapon obtained through killing Crota should CERTAINLY be useful when battling his father but that just makes too much sense. I didn't care too much about the year 1 exotics that are left behind but it now just dawned on me that a newly BUFFED Necrogasm will be useless in Year 2 activities. I am sad, Bungie make me un-sad.

I have 4.5 kills across pvp/pve with Necro. If anyone can say anything about bringing the Necro to year 2, its me.
