I'm going to keep this professional and exclude all extreme and vulgar emotions currently being felt. Hopefully it will increase Bungie's attention.
Necrochasm MUST be ascendable to Year Two status. Let me explain why it deserves it, likely more so than any other Exotic.
Necrochasm is likely the most difficult and time-consuming weapon to obtain. Firstly, one must grind for Husk of the Pit. This could take anywhere from a few minutes to several weeks. Especially considering that, for a time, it was literally impossible to obtain. Bungie only fixed that a week or so ago.
Secondly, one must grind Eris bounties in order to attain the appropriate rank to buy an item from her. Rank 3, if I remember correctly. This process typically took about two weeks.
Thirdly, one must grind Hard Crota who knows how many times for the Crux of Crota to drop.
Then, one has Necrochasm, but the game's not over. Necrochasm was one of the WORST Exotics to ever exist. It was horrible, especially for a Raid Exotic.
It only took SEVERAL MONTHS for Bungie to acknowledge this and decide to buff the Hell out of it. That's great, but there is a problem. It will NOT be coming to Year Two. This is highly illogical and quite frankly, pardon my language, is beyond bullshit.
Why would you even bother to buff it if you are just going to render it obselete anyways? We will never know how powerful Necrochasm has become.
Don't give me that, "you can still use it in Year One activities", crap. What is the point in Year One activities? "For fun". Sorry, but nothing is fun if all efforts are going to be futile and mean nothing. Besides, if one does decide to use a Year One weapon, what will it likely be? Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Fang of Ir Yut, Gjallarhorn, and just about anything else Bungie decides to leave behind.
To sum it up, Necrochasm has gone through too much to be left behind. It needs to be brought to Year Two status.
That's my side, Bungie, what's yours?
EDIT: I'm not going to let this post die. Bungie needs to answer for this.

Agreed.

I just came back from the future. I don't have time to explain... I'm here to confirm that year 2 exotics will not be taken into year 3. Also, Mark Noseworthy is still trying to get Bad Juju. He also has submitted legislation at Bungie headquarters to remove year 1 exotics completely from the game. Except Bad Juju.
-
Why would Bungie constantly show it off in their videos and trailers if they will make it useless?
-
It is coming to year two

3 RespuestasEverybody is misinterpreting this info!!! The whole Year1 exotic upgrade system isn't a damage upgrade, all they are doing is giving them more perk customization and a different skins. Every exotic will be at the same damage rating. So Bungie announce that only a handful of the year 1 exotic will be getting new skins and perks and more will come in time and everyone hears the info as: "some exotics are getting a damage upgrade and the ones that wont will be useless". So everyone who is like "what's the point of buffing necrochasm if it will be obsolete?" or "goodbye Vex Mythoclast, I will miss you" You are not listening to Bungie. Those guns will be exactly the same!! They just wont have a new look or have new perks. Even though Necrochasm isn't getting a year 2 version, it'll still be more powerful than the ones that do. Everyone: "SUROS is getting a black skin and Hardlight isn't?, well I guess I better assume hardlight will be obsolete from now on..." NOTHING IS GETTING LEFT BEHIND.
-
2 RespuestasBump. Same can be said for Thorn. Nerf it, sure. But don't leave it behind. Mida? Hard light?
-
Bump, amen brother
-
bungies thinking, give red death ant last word a y2 version but not exotics that deserve one
-
-
Bump!!!
-
2 RespuestasThis is the only exotic I feel should come forward for exactly those reasons. It took forever to get husk, took forever to level up to ally, took forever to get the crux, and all for a weapon class that got nerfed into ground rendering the most elusive exotic in the game useless. It deserves a chance to be useful before being vaulted for good. Maybe in year 3 but Necro deserves to be a viable option in year 2. Bump bump bump.
-
1 RespuestaI feel the same with Vex Mythoclast. That way people actually would still want to play the old raids.
-
3 RespuestasI agree. Anyone else think that it's strange that we will be able to get 3 Necrochasms with 1 Crux of Crota? I stopped levelling my third husk when I realized this. The same goes for PoE exotics. Bungie are crazy. Although some things may change before release.
-
1 RespuestaWait for 3 more updates guys. Deej did not have a necro so it did not show up. Just wait. In the trailer someone is using it a level 40. So let's see.
-
1 RespuestaHave they said which weapons are/are not being given the Taken King treatment? If not there is still a chance. But I agree with what you've said :)
-
1 RespuestaAgree with OP and not just the nechrochasm but all raid, exotic bounties and elder cipher weapons should be carried forward to year 2 as we had to earn these weapons unlike random drop weapons like the gally.
-
I agree totally. That thing has at collecting dust for me for months. Now I get to use it till I find something better and then it's done. I hope there's something regarding the end-game content from year one that hasn't been explained yet. I just hate the idea of using my vex or Necro until I get some vendor weapon drop that is twice as powerful during week one.
-
I think all exotics should come to year two and beyond.
-
2 RespuestasSummary: necrochasm needs to come to year 2 because i have this weapon
-
I agree, this dude here has started a petion to have ALL year one exotics in year two bump this link if you agree:
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/148087669/0/0
-
It may still be year 2. Deej just didn't have it.
-
1 RespuestaI never bothered to even try for necrochasm because I don't like ARs and heard it was terrible. But when I heard about the 2.0 buff, figured why not. Then I hear that it isn't carrying into year two. Now I'm sitting on husk about 2/3 activated and no interest even bothering to finish for necro, because it's just not worth it for 3 more weeks.
-
Watch there ttk stream
-
Personally I just think raid exotics should be brought forward indefinitely, seeing as though they actually force you to "achieve" to obtain them. Leaving them behind just seems like a way of "nullifying" said achievements.
-
2 RespuestasIf they won't upgrade it to year 2 then they need to guarantee a Crux drop for completing hard Crota. I've completed Hard Crota plenty of times with only garbage drops lately and of course, no crux. I never even bothered with Necrochasm until the 2.0 buff announcement because prior to that it was labeled as "the worse exotic", which is surprising considering how useless No Land Beyond is! So I didn't want to waste my time. But after the announced upcoming changed I went and ground out the Husk and maxed the Ally. Now I just need that stupid Crux. I maxed my Eris levels a month ago
-
Immense agreement here. I think raid exotics should always have a y2 version
