Is old gen holding back next gen?
W/out old gen-
- more vault space
- bigger areas
- more loot
- more story missions, strikes, raids
-etc.

5 RespuestasBungie has already confirmed that last gen creates some barriers for the game, once they stop supporting last gen, which will probably be year 3, we should see some improvements. The bigger question is, can this community wait that long?

I thought this game was going to be only next-gen. It was going to be my excuse to buy a new console. But closer to release they started advertising it for current gen as well. I thought, ok cool, a several hundred dollar discount. Now I wish they had pushed back the release date, and made this just for next-gen consoles.

Yes old gen is holding back current gen but they haven't dropped support for old gen on Destiny because mainly there are still players on those consoles while it may not be as many as current gen we still are a part of this community and they want to support us through till the end of Destiny 1 but when the next Destiny game comes out they will drop support but when Destiny came out current gen consoles were the minority

10 RespuestasI find this so annoying. Of course last gen is holding back current gen. To those that say no, every new game that is released is pushing the old gem systems to their absolute limits. Even with GTA:V, rockstar came out and said, some stuff may have to be cut for last gen, as it can't handle it. I don't see why bungie and activision don't just make it current gen only. Is it because of those that can't afford it? Why? That's the minority. If people really wanted to move to next gen, they would have by now. And if they're waiting for something to really push them to do it, what about an exclusive next gen game, like destiny. Push the new systems to the limits, not the old ones. I want to be impressed about what they can do with a game like this.

Yeah, and in more then just destiny, it's not a yes or no question it is a fact... Having a cross gen game holds back a games possibility, that said even if it was current gen only the devs might not tap in the full potential...

I think it is, but I also wonder whether Microsoft's commitment to XBL servers and ze cloud could do some things to enhance a persistent-world game. Admittedly we'll never find out because Destiny is multiplat (which is great), but maybe Rare's pirate game will benefit.
