You do realize that this is an issue that Bungie or even Activision can't fix. The problem with selling games over seas is all the different trade agreements between different countries. Depending on how strict or not strict the import laws are decide the price of that game for a particular country. If other countries want steady and fair prices for foreign games they need to get their respective governments to change the laws and regulations on importing.

It's being released by Activision UK so there's no import duty, all they've done is swap the currency symbol. V.A.T. in the UK is around 20% nowhere near the 50% extra we're being asked for.

Again I said it depends on how strict or not strick the import laws is for each country. Obviously the UK laws are not strict enough to protect its citizens from predator practices. I tried to look up Activision UK to see if they are a distributor of the game and couldn't find any info supporting that. So I'm going to assume the U.S branch is handling it. But that doesn't matter. The fact is whatever the reason is only your individual governments can effectively change this specific cases and any other cases in the future. Laws need to be in place so stuff like this doesn't happen.
