I'd still take my VoC over all of that. We paid Bungie to be their game testers. Usually people get paid for that job.

Every year will improve by the feedback from the previous. Bungie has the tools to take and add-in features that players can help decide the direction of the idea and refine it into a product worthy of the devotion. Most would say that's one of the features of the game and not a downfall, the ability to actively apply feedback on this intimate level is often reserved for closed door testing. Here? Here we get the closed doors to ensure they're a decent idea at the start and then feedback from hundreds comes pouring in some with either useless white-knighting or just flaming dev-bashing, but a good part of that rush consists of ideas to help improve that feature to what that player deems beneficial to the game he wants to play. The best part of that mob is that they don't want to play the same game even if they're both called Destiny, and then the real innovative ideas are borne should they actually have intelligent conversation. ^-^ We're not testers, we're the community that gets the product after the testing is done and helps have a hand in guiding the feature into a more integrated part of the game. And most games don't pay beta testers anymore. Now it's selective closed beta or pure open beta.

Game testers do get paid however. There is a difference between a game tester and a beta tester. A lot of these features they are implementing are things that should have made it into the game before it even went into beta testing. It's cool that the Devs and Bungie are implementing these features and improving the game. If the Devs were truly on point so to speak most of these new features would have already been in the game. The Devs and Bungie are playing catch up because they released an incomplete game that was pushed onto the market to meet schedule. The new content added since VOG has been weak at best.

  • Aye, that's what happens when you develop a new game engine directly alongside the game it runs, delay requests are denied, and lead design devs depart for reasons that cannot be confirmed to name a few things. But with things like in-game Grimoire were never intended to be a thing until now. Vi-Docs even have an early version of viewing the cards online with a dev talking about communicating with the player in new ways. Not saying they're dead-on, but with this year forward nearly every single thing has been addressed and even completely turned on its head for the player. We've been hearing about new kiosks in the Tower that store any Shaders you've unlocked and the sort to free-up Vault space and some special solution that Bungie seems excited to announce in time according to Deej. That said the real testers are the guys like Greg Requa and NDA closed-door gents.
