If you want to be objective you played Year One to kick ass in a FPS shooter with MMO elements that can be arguably seen as being unique for a console title. For a full debate I recommend reading my discussion with Shadow Artiste!
If you want to be subjective:
To have a hand in the story, you were there for each of the previous activities that players who are new to the game will recognize as pre-existing lore. You're their Kabr, their Shin Malphur, their Toland. Even better, you're the one who pissed off Oryx.
That, and to collect all the Exotics early and have a hand in collecting the data that resulted in the 2.0 balance patch as well as the hits to Valus and the Psion Flayers. To be there to change the Cryptarch's bad trading system and to reap the rewards of cheese and the Loot Cave/laugh as you stop the Caver's shenanigans. To be there, when not but the strength of your shotgun could carry you into the upper echelons of Crucible leaderboards with not a concern for munition conservation. To be here, when Thorn and Juju were terrible and SGA was even WORSE than it currently is. To be here! When there was but 30 spaces in your Vault, when the Interceptor was OP, when High Impact Autos were kings which fell to the tragic irony of Thorn accounting 50% of all primaries, when the Black Hammer had infinite ammo, FOR THE ERA OF GJALLARHORN!
You, you were here with us for the best and the worst. And the game is better for it and so is your experience with the game's mechanics and tribulations. You're the one who will be the pillar of what the onlooking kinderguardian can achieve.
You don't need an old weapon to prove this in the same manner I don't need to brandish my Khovostov to show I pressed A. It's not in the gear, it's in the context. Sure, I'm saddened many of my weapons will fall, however I'm still going to hold onto some keepsakes. There's no possible way I can delete my Red Hand. Exotics will remain upgradeable.
Oh, and I'm still missing one ship, and one of each shader except Cleopatra, still need three of those.
Big Edit: There was one big thing I'm sure we're all glad they've changed from vanilla: Relic Iron farming.
Probably final edit: And Especially to be entertained by players like Mr. Fruit, Planet Destiny, Datto, TripleWRECK, and Mrs/Ms.5000watts. Knowing when to "Stick it in" and to instantly remember Deej in a fabulously tasteful suit saying that, and to see Deej cut a Gjalla cake with a Katana.

1 RespuestaYear 1 was like a Early Access Game. Alpha. Year 2 will be the Beta. Destiny 2 will be the full release of Destiny.

I had a tear in my eye while reading this. Absolutely beautiful and you get it so thank you. We are the building blocks for a constantly evolving game. I love this game so I will be there every step of the way for this game to help improve it for future players. The story is never about the final destination but the trials and tribulations gone through to get there. we are at the beginning of this story and it is time to start a new chapter.

This right here is the best post in the forums yet.

I love these very few positive posts. You get it dude and I hope that the majority of us understand all of this. See you in the dreadnought fellow guardian.

The game is a gambling simulator as the prettiest FPS that allows me to sit back and shoot the s**t with my friends. I am completely cool with that. Works for what it is, but I don't tout it for what it isn't. Within my group, we forgot about any story long ago, because it isn't there, but we also don't criticize it too much because it offers some mindless fun!

Very well said. Nothing, absolutely nothing can take away from us the fact that we've been here since the beginning. That we've collected emblems and experienced events and content that have long been relegated to the dustbin of Destiny. We are legend. We are the ones that newcomers will look up to post September and strive to be as good as. One day down the track Bungie may well reward those of use who are still around and have helped shaped Destiny into whatever it becomes. That's why we play, that's why (some of us) provide constructive feedback, that's why we grind, and that's why these changes are exciting and necessary!

3 Respuestas"It's not in the gear, it's in the context." Beautiful post. :-) I do wish we could dismantle or otherwise "trade in" old gear in some way, though, beyond the normal means. Just something that recognizes and rewards the grind.

This deserves a slow clap.
