9 RespuestasCarlsbad, Warm Water Beach Aug 18, 2015 I was surfing with my cousin in California, having a good time, when all of a sudden... the beach was slowly shifting away. He kept his chill, because he knew how to escape the undertow, but me being from Michigan was like "Ahhh!!!" People on shore were starting to pay attention to us, and they were standing at the beachfront, yelling, telling me to swim. Tensions rose as we could not both be supported by one board. He, my cousin, being heavyset, and me, slim did not make for good balance either. I was unfamiliar to the salt water, and it stung my tongue. My cousin was cool with it. (After the fact, I wonder if he actually knew we were in Danger😵) All the screams turned into cheers as the lifeguard came running from shore, stooping to a trot, and then swimming. She grabbed me, and towed my cousin on the board. (I couldn't help laughing a little.) We got back to shore, and my wife yelled at me for being a jackass. I felt lucky to be alive. Later at a bar in La Jolla, I told of our near death experience, and my brothers laughed at me. It felt good to laugh at myself. What was I trying to do? Swim to Hawaii?! TL,DR I was in danger, and a hot chick saved me.

2 RespuestasFreak wave came about 8 ft high. I jumped straight up and it thrashed me right in my face. Did like a triple spin backflip and as I was flying through the water another person torpedoed passed me grazing my shoulder shooting across my back. When I finally gained control and stood up I was about 50 yards away from my original spot. Ran back hoping for another one but it never came.

Not really scary but unfortunate... I went to Hawaii when I was about 12-14, can't remember how old I was, and the day before our flight left my cousin threw a rock at me and hit me right on the nose. Cut the shit out of my nose.. So there we are sitting on the beach and the whole time I'm thinking, salt water, -blam!- this going to hurt. I tell you what, that -blam!-ing hurt so bad.
