To the desk of Sandbox Designer Jon Weisnewski
On a positive note, some of your changes are fair. Final round snipers should have been fixed a long time ago (better late than never), and buffing auto rifles and scout rifles will get them out of the vault, where most are currently collecting dust.
That being said, this is what's going to happen if you patch Ice Breaker, Gjallarhorn, and Black Hammer as outlined in Destiny Weapon Tuning 2.0:
Gjallarhorn:
Lowering the damage of the Gjallarhorn will actually cause pickup groups to become more exclusive and more likely to make it a requirement for entry, not less. That's simple economics.
Players aren't going to respond to the damage loss with "darn it, I guess we should just let anyone in now, because our Gallys are weaker, so suddenly those legendaries don't look so bad." They're going to respond with "damn, our Gallys are weaker, so I guess we need to make sure everyone in our fireteam has one now and not let anyone in who doesn't.
Currently, confident players don't need a full roster of Gallys for endgame content, and only losers exclusively demand it. If you make it harder to play your game, people are going to be even stricter about who they invite, and if they haven't seen someone in action, they're going to base their assessment on gear.
Better Solution:
Slightly decrease the damage of wolfpack rounds and increase the base damage of rocket launchers to compensate. That way, players who took the time to get a Gjallarhorn will still be rewarded for their dedication, but the damage gap won't be prohibitive to those looking to join a pickup group for a raid.
Ice Breaker:
The few places in the game where the Ice Breaker is really useful aren't going to be impacted by your 3 second cooldown increase, other than making them more boring to play.
Also, the most likely use of that three seconds will be to give players just a little extra time to contemplate the reality that, in lieu of adding new content, Bungie has decided to continue the trend of arbitrarily making them wait for something to pad their content.
Better Solution:
Just don't. If something isn't going to kill you in five seconds, it's not going to kill you in eight. Stop wasting people's time just for the sake of wasting it.
Black Hammer:
You're essentially taking something that was fun to use in a few places and breaking it. No one will use Black Hammer anymore, and the only thing you will accomplish is breaking a rare weapon that people spent a lot of time trying to get to have fun in a few places that would take only slightly longer to beat without it.
Better Solution:
Just don't, and stop being so creative with your nerfs. No one asked for this, it won't stretch out your content in any meaningful way, and critical hits are not that easy against all but a handful of low-level bosses. If you keep breaking fun things in your game, eventually people will stop playing it.
Not looking forward to having this chat again, but I really hope you guys actually take some time to listen to the community.

8 RespuestasBungie isnt nerfing those weapons for the reasons they gave us, those reasons are just a smoke screen. They are nerfing them because they dont want their new bosses in TTK to be killed too quickly so rather than design better bosses they just nerf the weapons that have the potential to destroy the new end content.

They could've just nerfed Black Hammers damage a little. That thing was broken because of its impact, if it was a solar nightfall on sepiks, you could melt the devil walked in seconds.

Editado por SNEsenpai: 7/18/2015 5:46:38 AMWell written post and feedback, unfortunately no one in Bungie would listen or care. Edit your post and tag the new guy Cozmo unless he went rogue on the community and moved on to the dark side becoming Bungie's puppet. This post is worth a bump until hopefully one day someone who knows someone who works at Bungie accidentally reads it and realizes it makes sense and worth sharing on the next staff meeting. Last note, i hope all of you who cried for a Thorn Nerf learn from this, be careful what you wish for, yes they did hear you and nerfed it or will nerf it but as proven by Bungies track record, they will also render all hand cannons useless. They will now replace AR in uselessness. Dont care much about thorn but love my Fate and Solar Jewel

5 RespuestasHere is what doesnt make sense: If those guns are overpowered, what guns are we supposed to use in their stead? Supposedly ttk guns damage bases are leaps and bounds above what these current guns can do. None of it makes ANY sense. Nerf damage to make newer guns seem powerful via a dead comparison? I dont get it. It sounds like doing work for NOTHING. WHY DO ANY OF PRE TTK GUNS NEED NERF EXACTLY?
-
Editado por Shadow_Legion: 7/22/2015 2:12:42 PMExactly. I do not give a -blam!- about the pvp nerfs. I will adjust as will others. But the pve is full of bullshit bullet sponges nerfing our weapons and leaving the sponges in is a slap in the face. Trying to base the Ghorn change on 1 out of 20 lfg post that ask for Ghorn is bullshit excuse and every lfg player knows it.

Bump. Have to agree with all this. Have pre-ordered TTK, but I'm considering cancelling and moving on to other games. Can't face the grind again if year 1 weapons are going to become useless. More challenges are good, more grind is not.
-
I might bump this every day... just to show my continuing disdain for pve nerfs...

6 RespuestasBetter nerfs for these weapons would be better designed encounters. Make it so that the next raid doesn't require sheer firepower to kill the boss. Like the entire process for killing Oryx as having to use something in the envrironment and the next relic. Keep weapons for mowing down minions of the darkness, and have nothing to spongy. Don't make it so damn safe to sit far outside enemy range. Have enemies move too you and increase their range and frequently spawn. Have Destiny Tank enemies project a shield if players are firing from too far away.

Hubris doesn't accept unintended consequences as anything but a requirement for more intrusive matriarchal meddling.

3 RespuestasEditado por Grimnir2001: 8/18/2015 7:08:41 AMBungie is acting like my son was when he was younger, blame the other guy for your own mistakes. They are blaming the players to play the game a certain way as they see fit, that will never change, thats human nature. OP weapons are fun to use and make the grind easier to do, so whats really wrong with that? The hole control thing is really getting out of hand with Bungie, make more and better content, thats all they have to do. No its the players fault, really Bungie!!!!!!!!!

All Rocket launchers are getting a base blast radius increase. This increase was originally made to compensate for the proximity nerf. This buff on blast radius will naturally make Gjallarhorn's DPS (Damage Per Second) even out after the Wolf Pack Round nerf. Problem already solved..
-
The changes are ok. Black Hammer is way too gimmicky. Gjallarhorn is overpowered. Icebreaker is cheesy. These three things needed to be changed, they were sapping the fun out of the game. -1 for your very popular post lol.

2 RespuestasLet's add to that; DO NOT NERF FUSIONS YET ANOTHER TIME! they've been crappy for a very long time. I never see people using them ir complaining. If someone does use it it puts them at a great DISadvantge. So why are they shitting on them yet again?

1 RespuestaYou are wrong about the G-Horn. If the G-Horn is close to the same level as the other Exotic Heavys, I doubt itll be a requirement in any group unless the fireteam leader is a straight up dickhead
