How many would still play Destiny if Taken King DLC isn't a good DLC package?

I would still play, good price for content.

Too much money too little content, I would stop.

Don't care, I only troll fanboys on forums.

I am a first year Destiny player. I stopped playing within the first month of release. My reason for stopping is the lack of content, the bad loot system, the grind that existed and still exists. I did come back and play the first expansion DLC. My friend actually told me it was worth it. I played it and beat the missions, and I looked around for more to do with the DLC and I saw that it was just more of the same. I expected more for it being a $20 DLC. I was disappointed by the DLC and I stopped playing again. Now this didn't stop my sibling from playing PvP because that's all they liked about the game. It has been some time and I did log on last weekend to let my roommate from college play it cause he's a PC gamer. He obviously didn't play the game before, I didn't tell him anything and he went in fresh. He was not impressed, he didn't say anything about the visuals, he was talking about what was available for him to do in the game. I showed him around the menu and the planets and I told him everything that had happened with the game up to the newest update before this newest one this week. He was disappointed, like I had become after a short period of time. I did not buy the second DLC and I have no plans to further support this game. I was burned by this game, and I have to blame myself for believing the hype, and I blame Activision more than I blame Bungie. I honestly believe that they were a driving force for making this game a shell of what it might have been during development. I don't hate this community or blame people for liking this game. That's great for you, do what you want, like what you want, I understand. I'm just wondering if the Taken King DLC would be a breaking point for some people in this community if it doesn't deliver for the price that they are asking for. If it stays the same like having the same vanilla maps reused for the majority of the missions, same vanilla mission setup, adds another currency to grind for, still has a bad loot system, does not introduce trading between players, doesn't add more than 1 raid, doesn't introduce new creative enemies, if it continues to make bullet sponge bosses, reuses old bosses; would any of you stop playing if this or more still happened in the DLC?

    • Taken king is making me either put down destiny for good, or keeping up the grind. as long as the raid is good I'll prolly stick with it

    • I have no way to know if I like it until I buy it, but if I don't like it when I buy it I will be disappoint.

    • That's quite a wall to surmount. But for me personally, there are three main reasons I spend money on Games and DLC. 1. I enjoy playing the game and am expecting more of the same with DLC. 2. I want to support the Game/Developer. An example is Titanfall. Love the game to bits but it got boring fast. I still love the idea so I bought the season pass and have barely touched the newest maps. 3. I get my money's worth. This is for Games that I spend alot of time on. Destiny is the perfect example. It is designed to be addictive. Run the first raid, Vault of Glass. Don't get the armour you need so you Crucible/Strike/Bounty for a few days. Xur arrives and (Hopefully) brings something new and interesting, so you do a few bounties, get it levelled, then run Vault of Glass the week after. And do the same each week. It is boring to some but I don't play Destiny exclusively unless I'm focused on something like Iron Banner or levelling a weapon quickly. Maybe around 10 hours per week to start with but with the ability to reforge weapons, I spend a lot of time trying to get the perfect set up for my weapons. Or perfect armour for my Characters. Take a look. They all look pretty good. Anyway, the game is designed to be addictive and that doesn't work for some people and works too well on others. With over 1300 hours into the game currently, I'd say another £40 is a sound investment.
