I don't care if someone thinks a corporation is attempting to make money off of me. I use banks that try and fleece me but provide valuable services, I go to the grocery store that wants to make money off of me but I get food. It is all about perceived value for the dollars we spend. Other DLC's or season passes like CoD are good benchmarks but then again we have games like the Witcher that is giving us new content for free. What about Diablo's ongoing support? It cuts both ways. The core problem with TTK is we don't truly know what the value is yet but we do know it is basically the same price as the last two expansions combined. Talk about a perception problem.
For me Destiny really has two things that draw me. 1. Getting to play with friends 2. Collecting loot. POE really hurt these two things. My friends can't handle Skolas and I would never try Trials with them. I used to be able to carry a friend maybe two through a strike and you could bring in 2-3 weaker players into a raid but newer content is just harder. We can't save our progress and come back because we don't have a checkpoint system anymore. Loot is really annoying in POE with perks that are detriments often times. Is there any must have loot in POE?
Destiny is a truly fabulous game, look at how many hours we have all played. However I don't really trust Bungie? $40 when I don't trust something is a lot of money.

Editado por Twistedjez: 6/28/2015 11:15:44 AMUK TTK dlc £40 UK legendary £42 https://www.coolshop.co.uk/product/destiny-the-taken-king-legacy-edition/AH5YF8 So a £2 diff between existing players and a new one. in the states its $20 diff dont be torn, tell em to go fk their selves . £27.83 should be UK dlc price.

Just add 20$ and buy fallout...
-
you are going to get the DLC anyways
-
pay 40$ and really hope TTK meets your expectations or stop worrying about TTK and buy a new game for 60$, the choice is yours

Look , go with your gut , and what console , I can carry with the best of em . Second , Poe is like that because it's not a raid it's an arena. The taken king has a raid , and strikes so there will be checkpoints. How was rushed so not everything was a great idea , but they're giving you what you see now . When how came out for previews we got what we saw in the trailers . So what I think personally , even though I'm getting the 80 dollar ce , wait for week one reviews and buy if you think it's worth it

I agree it's all about the people I enjoy playing with at this point

1 Respuesta
Everything OP said
This is me also - you've almost exactly described the way I feel about the expansion - I want to look forward to it, but I think it might just kill the game off for me. There's one other thing too though - vault space is a major problem. I know, I know we shouldn't horde right. Well here's the issue - I played from day one and when vault space got really tight I dutifully deleted a bunch of weapons like my Supremacy and Shadow Price as they were only 300 damage. THEN bungie add the ability to ascend old gear and now those guns could be relevant again. I never would have guessed that old gear could make a come back and now I'm annoyed that the only reason they got deleted was because of vault space issues and now that stuff is unobtainable. Months later, even after the vault space increase it's not enough to cope with all the extra loot. TTK will leave me needing to delete lots of old gear - who knows if it'll be relevant and unobtainable again? Too much vault stress to wonder if it's worth jumping in.

I am also in a bit of confusion too. On the one hand, I don't want to support Bungie. But on the other hand, I want to continue to play with my friends. But that's the thing though, Destiny has came to the point where playing with my friends matter more. I do not know yet if I'll get The Taken King yet. But friendship is always important and should come first.

6 RespuestasI am from the UK and I preordered the vanilla game on Amazon Prime for £42 ($66) last September, and now the Price of The Taken King (standalone) is £46 ($73) to preorder on amazon prime, costing more than the actual base game. So let's look at the base game: - 20 story missions - 4/5 strikes - 4 planets with patrol areas - 4 enemy types - 1 raid - dozens of crucible maps - a massive amount of exotics and legendaries - and more Rumours for the taken king: - 12 story missions - 3-4 strikes - one planet with patrol - one new enemy type - a few crucible match types and crucible arenas - one raid - a few extra exotic armours and weapons This is 40% of the actual game at best, yet will cost me 10% more than the actual game But still this is just rumours and I'll just have to wait until they release more information on it. P.S money isn't an issue for me, but when a DLC cost 73 US dollars you cannot be throwing money at the screen, you wouldn't buy a pen for $15 dollars when you know the value of it, even if you have enough money to buy a dozen. There's a line between making a profit and conning customers and bungie needs to know that.

3 RespuestasSame boat for me and my brother, we just got Diablo when it went on sale and absolutely love it. I can't decide or ttk, witcher3 or bat man.
-
8 RespuestasWell, I mean. I feel like i have gotten my money's worth out of the game so far. With how they say how big TTK will be Im confident that i'll get my money's worth of gameplay.

1 RespuestaYou have put an insane amount of time into the game and you got all that game time for a total of $90 so far... Thats insane value, imagine how much it would cost to go to that many hours of movies in the theaters? You have come to far to bail due to a measly $40 price point... Drive on guardian.

8 RespuestasQUESTION: Now that TTK is cheaper in US, does the UK price change?
sorry if it's a stupid question
After How turned out to be a massive let down and all the pricing issues with Ttk I'm having serious doubts about whether it's worth buying. Will wait for the reviews to come out but at £40 in the UK I'd rather pay for a new game
-
Unfortunately friend, it's supply and demand. Destiny is like cigarets and booze, no matter how much you raise the price people will still buy it.

Remember when we all didn't know the value of vanilla Destiny and had a rude awakening? I can see history repeating itself soon.
-
You mean thorn on TTK because of pvp c:
-
2 RespuestasDestiny is not a fabulous game; it just didn't have any competition.
-
To be honest I think its a disgrace now that Games developers these day make half a game then cash in on dlcs in past you paid £40 and you got a full game games developers are becoming to greedy.
-
What's with all these money posts?? Is everyone poor and can't afford the game or something?!

2 RespuestasDestiny has become a PvP game with HoW and I don't like competitive MP enough. I hope TTk will be more PvE oriented.
