SIMPLIFIED VERSION
Everyone is freaking out about the no burns because they can't just pop a bubble and snipe or rocket with whatever burn. We just ran it for the first time and beat it in 20 minutes. And guess what we didn't spend most of our time sitting in airlock waiting for supers and synth! It's all about strategy and communication.
First off you have to change your strategy completely. Gallys do damage him but it's gonna take a few synth rounds.
1. Take out adds before even touching Skolas. Run the map like you would with pilot servitor. ( In a rotation around the edges of the map )
2. Once adds are all dead. Find a good position ( we held middle with WoL )
3. Send a scout ( we used Hunter of course ) to take out the servitor shield.
4. Take down his health just enough to break the bond.
Repeat Kill the adds. Juggle the essence. Find your sweet spot. At this point his shield is down for good so no more scouting needed.
Begin Second round of damage to Skolas once adds are dead. Once you bring him down to half health the mines will spawn. Don't freak out, stay together.
ESSENCE JUGGLING Have a teammate take off the essence at about 7 seconds. You are immune for a little over 30 seconds. By the time it cycles back around you can then remove it from your teammate.
While the mines are up the one with the essence and the one without immunity need to be running together while the immune can solo if needed for mines.
We had one death the entire round. Using a Titan and Two hunters.
I hope this helps for those that are having a hard time with Skolas since the update.
Please Bump if you can so that guardians looking for a simpler strategy can find it.
Don't want it to get lost amongst the chaos of servers being down right now.

My team was 1 of each class we beat him first attempt

Okay so I made this strat right after the new patch had came out. I'm sure there are many techniques now so don't hate just because I did try to help some fellow guardians when at the time there were so many posts of help with skolas after patch. Keep it friendly people damn.
-
1 RespuestaAlso while simple this strat has plenty of issues such as modifiers ruin running around(this won't work with lightswitch unless the players actually know what they're doing), too much traveling around(leaves too much chance to get killed), and not enough direction for new players(essence passing and mine triggering takes communication and needs a set order for players to follow)

3 RespuestasWhile helpful your strat is just the main way of doing it without any tricks or setups. Let me show you how you actually enable easy mode on skolas. How to go into easy mode on Skolas. Please note that a Warlock with Fireborn can be used in place of a Hunter with Bladedancer*** What you'll need: 2 defenders w/ high 90s intellect and gift of the void. 1 blade dancer who can turn invisible. There are 3 major sections to this. The Left Platform, The Right Platform and Roles. -The Left Platform. Starting out the airlock run left, kill the silver servator, out damage on skolas. When skolas gets near run to the right platform. The amount of damage your team does to Skolas here doesn't matter, it's just an early chance to get him started. -The Right Platform. Coming from the left platform, run straight ahead to the right platform after doing a little damage to Skolas(if possible, sometimes he teleports almost instantly on top of you), the one that has 2 small walls on it's left and right. When Skolas appears in front of the platform have one of the Titans place a bubble inbetween the two walls making one long complete wall. If the Titan has Gift of the Void on(which is a must for this to work) then they'll make 5 orbs of light. This should be enough to get the second Titan to have a bubble ready. When the first bubble fades away have the second Titan replace it with their bubble. This will then again create 5 orbs and help the other Titan get to super, effectively creating an infinite Ward of Dawn and very safe place to complete the round. Time the triggering of each mine sequence with the hunter passing off the essence. This will allow them to go get the mines and not worry about the essence. The titans will stay on the right platform unless THEY MUST get the middle mine. In that case both Titans go together and keep up bubble loops. Clear out ads while on the platform. Do not rush things. If you miss the timing for the Hunter to pass off just do another round of pass the essence and try again. There are 2 outcomes if you did the mines correctly. The first and more ideal but harder outcome; mines are disabled, the hunter is running back to the right platform, the Hunter grabs the essence just in time and no one dies. Outcome 2; the Hunter is a little slow getting back, one Titan dies with the essence, the other stays alive and puts a bubble up as soon as the other Titan dies, the Hunter gets back, you revive the down Titan and begin the essence passing again. -Roles. Once your team is setup on the right platform and has the infinite Ward of Dawn in place you're ready to kill Skolas almost effortlessly. --Hunters role: to traverse the stage. Kill the servator and disable far side mines. --Titans role: keep the infinite WoD going. --Everyone on the teams role on top of class based roles: call out essence timer, clear ads, call out enemies that jump on the platform, damage Skolas. Hope this helps everyone. Please note that this is only ONE way to complete Skolas. I've found this method very friendly to any player vet or newcomer. I have yet to need to restart round 6 since using this method. It is very mistake friendly. Several times my team has been down to the last guardian but we never fully died.

Literally everybody does this exact same thing. This was also mentioned in an update, in which DeeJ said that Skolas will have health intervals.

2 RespuestasMy stats have nothing to do with wanting to help others out with a strategy. So because I was nice enough to post this guys on here want to belittle me. Made this little clip the other day. Asshole. Would love to come across you in some pvp. So just because here's my first little montage I didn't know the videos deleted after so long so only have June. Now shove it and let me be. Best of June so far Supaas http://youtu.be/EBeQWMWahz8

For the people who need it visually explained. Very simple.

1 RespuestaIt would be nice to actually get to play Skolas tho......... Oh sony is back up that's greaaaat now how about us. I get that we are destiny's stepchild and don't get all the "exclusive" guns and strikes but cmon dude. 12 hours......
-
1 RespuestaWell skolas is easier now in general cuz solar/arc weapons from the enemy can't blast u but also skolas is way spongier... All in all I'm getting the feeling that he IS easier now since the update; but that can change next week with different modifiers....
-
I'm done with Skolas until the raise the loot drops.
-
Me & my grand-dad MUCH prefer the NO BURN Skolas.. Sorry 4 link but he recorded HIS easy 6 step strat for an easy kill.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKI6h6F4RSk

Bump for later.

Ran skolas last night for the first time since the update and I really enjoyed doing it. We had 2 failed attempts and my 2 friends wanted to give up thinking it was to hard, I convinced them to try again and we did 3rd try. Took 40 mins in total with the 3 attempts and discussing what we needed to do different between each run.
-
Had a little different strategy but this is a damn good one Bump
-
This pretty much what we did. Took a while to find our groove but it's doable. Now you have to really work as a team.
-
Video or it didn't happen
-
1 Respuesta3 ghorns gets him to practically half health after first servitor . By that time you then rotate ,deal with ads , pass round the essence and deal with the mines . Requires a lot more communication but not too difficult . It is more difficult than burns though . They were so easy .
-
1 Respuestanot to mention over powered mc strong can just self Rez the essence off for some time
-
1 RespuestaLong time Lady! I remember we ran crota when it first came out. Nice post
-
It is more time consuming now but definitely easier if you have a well coordinated team.

23 RespuestasEditado por Lady Ink 405: 6/17/2015 7:17:46 AMOkay well I guess I will take video of this non existent essence we didn't have while running around killing adds after the bond was broken. Typo or not I was only going off of facts I read from bungie as for his health. Lastly I didn't make this thread for a who's got the bigger dick contest. Was only giving a strategy that worked. K so have fun with all your measuring. Happy gaming
-
Start by breaking his bonds IMMEDIATELY with the old 'run right with a bubble' strat. Go around the edge to the left and pass the poison around at twenty second intervals. Spend most of your time shooting ads, if you have rockets, shoot SKOLAS. Keep going around the edges and send the hunter to get mines. Rinse and repeat.

2 RespuestasAll of you whiny asses ruined skolas. He was the only challange that this game had to offer. Now everything is just too easy.
-
4 RespuestasWhats the point in doing skolas anymore if you have all the ciphers, the shader, emblem, ship? So you can maybe get shitty PoE weapons with burns?
