New Gun Idea: The Rose
So, according to the lore of the thorn it actually used to be called the rose before it was corrupted by the darkness thus making it Thorn.
But what if we actually got to hold the Rose? My idea for the Rose would be, it has kind of the same design of the Thorn, but it's different, then instead of the black it would be red. And it could have vines growing around it and surrounding the cartridge. The main perk of it would be when you shoot someone it slows them down and each shot made them slower because the power of the bullets would be poisonous. I think this would be cool, if you do too, spread this and bump this so Bungie can see. I want this to be a weapon.
Edit: I made this idea before thorn became overpowered/overused and I dont think this should be made.

5 RespuestasThat's a very cool idea. Adding to your idea: I would create a further extension of the thorn's bounty which would unlock the Rose. The murmur has two different slots for its different burns (Arc/Solar) and stats. Maybe BUNGIE could implement this in other weapons and allow you to just switch between the different abilities. My version of the Rose: Dancing Rose party: When you shoot someone it instantly activates their dance. The more you shoot the more they dance and the dancing which brings life and color to the match will eventually make your opponent slowly dance to death. - Simitry

If you think of it the rose would just be a year two thorn with a different color/design and I don't want to have to deal with that in the crucible again, also not a bad idea but no one wants another op thorn

I had a similar idea for an exotic auto rifle i was comming up with, similar exotic perk anyway.

So I beat the daily and did the thing to get the new exotic sniper with 24 seconds left I was so happy to get the gun, but something strange happens I didn't get a drop or anything! I was confused cause I know I beat it but I look at my time and see I had went a minute past refresh! Why would it still give me a time in game but not let me get the item! I started it 20 minutes before refresh and beat after one minute of refresh... I just wanted the gun so why didn't I get it?

2 RespuestasI actually might design the rose, i was thinking about putting petals on a simple gun, such as red hand IV, but the petals will be in the same format as the thorn. The orb on the end can be white, or pink, and the rose petals will either be a gradient light-pink, or red. The weapon will shoot just like the thorn, but will sound a little more "friendly" The perk i decided will be called "guardian of guardians" this perk will be able to give portions of healt to your teamate, ANY teammate that is on your fireteam/ crucible team. A full clip should be able to give at least 3/4 of health back to your teammate. Since "whatever his name was" grea to be the greatest guardian, that defended his fellow guardians with all his might, before he got corrupted, i figured this qould be a fitting perk. Once designed, i will post, but not exactly sure when will be done at the moment

That's cool, I had a gun idea too. It was going to be based off the design of the Hawkmoon called "Forgot you already." It's quote would be, "The memory of you wasn't that rememberable." I would do Arc and its perk would be called "Live Wire Justice." If a player avenges a fellow fire team or PVP teammate, the damage, accuracy and reload would be increased, and the gun would glow in the color of your shader.

But then we have a new Year 2 we pains that's like the thorn and can do better than the thorn. Believe me I love my thorn to dead but in Trials and any PvP you do it is allows thorn. People need to figure out that a burn of a gun and a high impact isn't always the best. I would like to see people using the last word or pulse rifles more than the thorn. I'm glad that destiny is having the thorn stay a Year 1 exotic it will be less used and more weapons will rise. Like suros maybe be a weapon that can rise as a Year 2 exotic

Good idea Not so good perk idea (me smells a PVP player) I think you should base the design on the lore more than the change it goes through That being said my shitty idea of what rose could be is Same style and TLW except it's a black and red revolver, possibly with a single rose engraved on the side The idea is that thorn grew the black stuff so if you remove the black stuff you have the bound handle black and gold colour scheme and a hawk moon esque handle however the barrel also looks a lot like it could be like hawk moons it's also trapezoidal and seems high caliber I don't like that I think it should have a more western look with maybe a counterbalance and a laser essentially it should look like it was designed by a competing company to tex mechanics at the same time and maybe feature a unique sight as thorn does The perk I think should do less offensive effect than thorns dot and possibly even heal the user to counter thorns dot Or it should just have outlaw and head seeker with hidden hand because killing people is fun Idk what the ability should be i just think slowing enemy's is mean Maybe it should over penetrate targets like thorn that's good Or bloom a firefly effect that targets nearby enemy's with a petal explosion

2 RespuestasThe thing is the Thorn is very unique it shoots thorns if "The Rose" was created what would it shoot? Thorns im guessing so the same thing? The ligering poison or burn makes the thorn special so if this gun was made it would need it as well? Or a good fire rate maybe the darkness slowed the fire rate and added burn???? So thats my thoughts if it had a good fire rate or burn then im going to go with you if not no need for it
