this raises a bigger question of why does the nexus not have arms..... or any other defining features most vex have

I believe Vex units only have arms if they are equipped with an external weapon. Units like Hydra and Nexus have weapons built into their frame. I doubt they would use their appendages for human functions, e.g. typing on keyboards or manual tasks. I believe the Vex percieve manual work as lowly.

but vex drones melee with hands and minotaurs slap ya with their guns the nexus is like a bumper car when it tries to hit ya even the gatelords have arms, including atheon...

Oh yeah for sure, the Goblin blast and Hobgoblins use their hands to summon grenades, but the higher ranking ones almost surpass that form and don't need appendages. That said, I gave my concept arms because reasons. :D
