How hard is "A Light in the Dark"?
I was turning in the one Crucible bounty I lazily completed today, and I got a Vanguard Mentor Missive. I got excited at first, but then I told myself it was just going to be another Super Good Advice, Bad Juju, or Pocket Infinity, as I'd gotten this exact arrangement 4 times now. I checked it, and Bad Juju and Pocket Infinity were there, but there was something else as well...

Complete the Summoning Pits strike on the Moon.
I looked it up, and little did I know: I'm on my way to my Thorn! Anyways, the point of this post isn't the brag but to simply ask:
In total, how long did it take you to complete the entire bounty? I've heard that the void damage in Crucible is hard, but Xyor is easy with two people there to help you out.
Thoughts?

I soloed the whole bounty twice first time crucible took a while becuase at the time I did not have a void prim but sexual bs time did it with Atheons epilogue and it wreak if you can use it well I ran that corrective and either a shotty or fusion and I walk out of an average match with 25-30 point and a good match 60

It's not that bad if you have three void weapons on a void walker. Hell you don't even have to kill necessarily just get assists and stay alive. If you're hitting with axion bolt and getting assists on people you're making progress. Epilogue, whatever void secondary you're good with, truth or corrective measure and you'll get there pretty quickly. And I'm terrible at crucible.

not as bad as it sounds. Xyor is time consuming since you have to clear ads in a special phogoth strike, hive ships drop off the enemies and the third one should contain Xyor. the crucible part is not that bad, i'm a below average player in regular crucible, for whatever reson i do much better in the Iron Banner. I recommend planing that especially if you have the plug one.1. In IB it's usually a one shot kill, not so in regular. I completed the 500 points in a couple of days, about an hour of play each day. there's a post on here somewhere that explains the whole bounty pretty well. you have to remember that assists count as well. your score is kills+assists-deaths. so for example 10 kills plus 5 assists minus 8 deaths is 7. I did this with no void primary, although i'm sure being a voidwalker more than made up for that, the plug one.1, and switching between corrective measure, jolder's hammer, one way ticket 000, and truth, just because i like variety. hope this helps, happy hunting!

Word of crota with a void special and corrective measure works great for the PvP part - also, get someone to do the last strike with you - it's not hard - it just takes a while solo

If you have a void primary the pvp part is a breeze. I don't have one so I used a void shotgun, took a few hours but I did it. I think the last strike you have to do was probably the most difficult out of the whole bounty. If you don't like pvp that part may be the worst. Either way I would make this bounty your main focus if you like to pvp a lot because thorn is a beast.

Its easy i did the 500 void kills with a heavy and shotgun wasnt bad

I did it with my hunter with plug 1 void and a rubbish heavy n soloed the rest, crucible was hardest part for me but rest wasn't that hard

It's Really not that bad.. In crucible I used Atheons Epilogue,SwordBreaker, and Corrective Measure And I got it done in about 2 hours. as long as your decent in crucible and average a positive k.d. It'll speed things up and you'll be done in no time. Best of luck!

I have completed it 7 times, and soloed the last part twice.

I did it with a void fusion rifle and voidwalker. Took me probably 6 hours of crucible. (I suck at crucible)

Depends on how bad you are in pvp. I am not sure if the criteria changed as I got mine prior to the TDB dropping. The most difficult part is getting the void kills in the crucible. I did it in about 12-15 control matches with only a void fusion rifle and heavy MG. Others have done it faster.

its really not hard, i don't know why people complain about it being a hard bounty to do. if you have a void fuision/shotgun and void heavy (Corrective Measures) you're good to go.

Um, its plenty hard. You have to get crucible kills with VOID weapons only and death hurts your numbers. 5 for a kill with void, lose 2 for a death. So you need a good Void Loadout and to be pretty good at PVP. Then after that, you have to take out Xyor the unwed. That just takes patience!

If you're good at Crucible, it's easy. You also need a good team for the last part. On the 500 hive part, just do the wakening on the moon. Did the bounty in 4 days. Good Luck.

I wouldn't call it hard just a grind. Xyor can be aggravating if you don't have a couple friends to run it with but she goes down easy once she spawns in.

Not really that bad. I am terrible at crucible so I just camped and killed people as they walked into the control points. Do that and your fine.

Working on my 4th Thorn. Crucible is my least fav part. I think that takes the most time. During that part i've gone over a week on one char while it took me only about 2hrs another time. Warlock/Titans are best suited for this via void subclasses. I dont enjoy running my Lock thru pvp as much as my hunter or totan though. I'm using WoC atm so hopefully it goes fast.

It certainly makes you earn it. Worst part IMO is Phogoth round 2 for Xyor...yuck

For the void damage in crucible, just make sure you have a void heavy, and a void shotgun or fusion rifle. I recommend sidewinder and helios for your special weapon slot. both of which can be easily found from a blue engram.
