The white glow ISN’T a universal ornament So it will only work on the solstice armour And that’s gonna be no good at all if you get shitty rolls (and no luck from the package rng) and the armour isn’t worth the effort to masterwork Only the PAID (via Silver/Brightdust) ornaments that change colour according to subclass will be universal ornaments Those ornaments cost the best part of £40 The Beyond Light DLC is £35 (for base version) Now see where’s best to invest your cash!

  • I don’t see how the ornaments cost $40 considering I spent 6000 bright dust on them and didn’t have to pay a penny.

$45 actually Probably more because it probably doesn’t fit silver packages directly.

  • Well if you dont have the bright dust then you have to spend silver. Thought that was extremely obvious but i guess not.

Or you can just do the weekly and repeatable bounties for bright dust. Thought that was extremely obvious but I guess not. Not to mention the fact you don’t HAVE to spend anything. It’s not like Luke Smith is behind you holding a revolver to your head.

X2 Weekly Brightdust (BD) bounties (rewarding 200 each) multiplied by 3 vendors (Shaxx/Zavala/Drifter) = 1200 Brightdust If you have the time to run 3 characters (many do, most don’t!- I certainly do not) then that’s potentially a maximum of 3600 p/week from weeklies But a realistic total would be 1 character gaining 1200 p/week - over the 4 week event = 4800 BD - leaving 1200 short Then there’s the 20 Brightdust per bounty that we’re supposed to drop from the Eva Levante daily pickup (that Bungie fvcked up - so no rewards) So a regular player with no reserves of Brightdust & only a single solitary character would need to complete ALL 6 weekly bounties for 4 weeks straight, plus 60 daily Eva bounties (which are currently broken) Leaving a 1200 Brightdust Deficit! YOU might have way too much time on your hands to run 3 characters & build up a stockpile of Brightdust in the 10’s of 1000’s But not everyone does!

  • I would say it takes around an hour and a half two hours maximum to get all those bounties done on a single character, you have a whole week to that on 3 characters which you don’t even need to level up, that gives you so much more time than you need to complete them. I am sure your have 4 and a half to six hours to spend playing destiny in the week at LEAST.

  • 1800? Each weekly gives you 200 and they don’t require a lot of effort at all.

  • Yes, UPTO 1800 bounties. I couldnt be bothered doing a full breakdown of the maths im having my morning cuppa right now.

  • I’ll believe you if you explain it, but as of right now in my mind there is no way you could do 1800 bright dust bounties without getting 6000 bright dust.

  • At 10 dust a bounty the most it could take you is 1,800 bounties to buy the ornaments for all 3 classes which ill admit is highly unlikely because you would surely knock out the weeklies in the process but i figured id just say the max amount because i couldnt remember how much dust the weeklies dropped. Now with that said its maths time 🤙 If weeklies give you 200 dust per completion you can earn 3,600 a week if you complete all 6 weeklies on 3 characters. So it would take you 5 weeks of only doing weeklies to get 18,000 dust. Now for the sake of making the math easy lets assume someone came into this event with 0 dust, over 4 weeks they would need to complete a total of 432 bounties. 72 weeklies and 360 repeatable bounties. The average time to complete a bounty on average and the resulting total time to earn 18k is as follows 1 minute = 7 hours 12 minutes 2 minutes = 14 hours 24 minutes 3 minutes = 21 hours 36 minutes 4 minutes = 28 hours 48 minutes 5 minutes = 36 hours 6 minutes = 43 hours 12 minutes 7 minutes = 50 hours 24 minutes It is a little hard to tell what the average time it takes to complete a bounty to be because of variables like difficulty, load times, loadout changing, skill, objective overlap, competition in the activity, luck(aka getting a fallen strike when fallen kills are needed), etc. But i feel like between 1 and 7 minutes is a conservative assumption for the average player. So assuming im correct that it takes 1-7 minutes to complete a bounty it is safe to say it could take someone between 7-50 hours of grinding bounties and only bounties to earn enough dust to pay for the ornaments. So its not impossible but then we also need to consider that you need to unlock majestic(might be magnificent) armour in order to buy the ornaments so we also need to take into account the time it takes to aquire all 3 sets of armour on top of that. Needless to say it can potentially be extremely time consuming and not everyone has the luxury of being able to complete it resulting in people having to spend silver on them if they want them.

You can buy the ornaments without levelling the Armor set at all. Plus you can actually choose which strikes you want to do the bounties don’t require playlist strike completions. 1800 bounties at 10 bright dust each is the absolute slowest method of doing it and there is no reason why you would go about it that way. If the argument was about some people not having time to do all three characters then why even include the price of all three characters? So either i overwhelmed you with math or you didnt read it but the first sentence i wrote explained the 1800 bounties thing so i wont bother repeating myself. Incorrect you do have to upgrade your armour to majestic in order to buy the ornament for that class. Good point about the luck variable though it doesnt effect my math as it was just a consideration as to why i wasnt confident in saying how long exactly each bounty takes, hence why i gave a range of time. Now as to why i included the price of all 3 characters, even though someone may not have the time for them is because those people are obviously more likely to have to spend silver to get the thing they want. Just because they dont have time doesnt mean they dont have desires after all.

  • The people who don’t have time for all three classes aren’t the ones who will blow 45 dollars to get all three sets of the glows if they only play one class.

  • Yes youre correct and on the flip side of that is someone who plays all 3 characters but does not have time to grind bounties and may resort to using silver to buy the ornaments. Not everyone that plays this game is always trying to accomplish a goal in the most optimal way possible, some people just wanna shoot some nerds and look cool while they do it ya know? So look im not trying to prove you wrong and 'win' an argument or what not, rather im just trying to show that not everyone has the luxury of earning enough dust to buy the ornaments even though they may desire them.
