Why would i want to watch more examples of progressivism? Did you hear Cenk is running for office btw?

Because you need a refresher course. And yes I have heard which is why I don’t consider what they do infotainment and not journalism.

A reftrsher course in what? Far progressivism and far far progressivism? Thanks. I've seen cenk and anna a few times enough to unsettle my stomach. When was the last time we saw cuomo or lemon balance their show with a view that didnt exactly echo theirs?

Thank you for demonstrating my point. The Young Turks arent "far far" anything. They are simply PROGRESSIVES....and they are advocates for the removal of private money from our campaign finance system because they believe (correctly) that its corrupting. But their policy positions on things are pretty typical of Progressives. You just have no idea where the true political center-of-gravity in the country actually is. A problem I find that many Conservatives suffer from. Especially those who get all their information from right-wing media.

I do wondet if you somehow consider yourself a centrist considering you dont have a single conservative view and downright dislike any that have been made.

Editado por TheArtist: 11/27/2019 3:38:40 PMI’m not a Centrist. I was in my 20s, but not anymore. I’m Progressive on social issues and Center-Left on economic issues. But I never lost a sense of where the actual Center is. The fact that Congress no longer responds to the actual will of the electorate has distorted people’s sense of where it actually is.

You are assuming everyone in the country takes their cues from Congress and not their own values. I know i dont follow congress nor am i alt right as you seem to erroneously believe.

People are taking their "cues" from their own values. Congress just isn't LISTENING, because they're under the control of the various corporate lobbies. If the Congress actually did the people's bidding, we would have had a universal healthcare system 20 years ago. "Obamacare" would have had a public option, because Sen. Lieberman wouldn't have done the bidding of the health insurance industry and sabotaged it. The political center of gravity of the NATION is NOT mid-way between the two parties. There are no "left-wing" parties in this country. We have one party that is to the Left on social issues, and one party that is on the right. But where it comes to economic issues? We have a far-right party....and center-right party. The only real differences between the two are their views on tax policy...and WHICH corporate masters they are beholden to. Republicans to fossil fuels and other traditional industry. Democrats to Finance and the Technology sector. Why do you think Michael Bloomberg and host of other "moderates" are suddenly getting into the Democratic Presidential race just three months before the first primaries? Especially when Trump is as politically weak---and beatable---as he's EVER been?? ITS BECASUE THE LEADING CANDIDATES ARE TALKING ABOUT TAXING THEIR WEALTH. They are too economically progressive for the comfort of finance and technology billionaires. Elizabeth Warren scares the PISS out of these guys. Because she's made it clear that she will -blam!- with their business model of keeping average people chained to debt.....and is going to come after their accumulated wealth in the form of no longer letting them avoid paying taxes. In terms of where they stand on the political spectrum? Today's Democratic Party is standing in the same spot the Republican Party did 40 years ago.

Editado por ElBambino: 11/28/2019 4:45:19 AMLOL Do you even *read* what I said? Because you just repeated exactly what i did say about people and their values. And no, the country hasn't wanted a universal healthcare system, it's never been universally wanted in this country, it's been thought about as something that could be good. But there has *never* been a universal push with the tgreater majority in the country for it over private healthcare. You do know that when you say left-wing parties and then you say there are "parties to the left on social issues" that that's the same thing! Also, what do you call the rise of socialism in the US? You know, parties like the Democratic Socialists of America? Or SPUSA? As for economics, the democrats are not center-right, not when they are *adding* more left socialist policies to grow the government further and increase the debt. Taxing the wealthy won't pay the bills and become the source to pay the debt for the government, that's just a silly pipe dream. Do you know what happened in Frace and Finland when they tried that there? The answer is they *all* left. 98% of the billionaires took their riches, dropped their citizenship and *left*. typo'd the country
