Imo, supers shouldn't gain any damage resistance at all. You're already 1-shotting everything in front of you, why do you need to be tankier on top of that?

Because you make yourself a target; everyone is alerted that you've cast the super, you're glowing and everyone is going to be trying to shut you down.
-
So, just like gunslinger, but with a non-instant TTK? Yeah. Anyone's a target when they're in their super, but titans, Way of the Wraith Nightstalkers, and Arcstriders get so much damage resistance on their supers that it feels ridiculous.
-
Oh yeah, I'm not arguing that the damage resistance isn't too much on some supers at the moment. I'm just saying why they need at least some damage resistance.
-
Maybe Stormcaller needs a little, but instakill supers, like Nova bomb 'locks and most titan supers DON'T. I mean, sentinel's shield makes you basically immune to damage from the front for its duration, why should it have any otherwise? And strikers with their now roaming panic slams don't need it either. I personally feel like supers have way too strong an influence on how matches go. You allow the enemy team to build their supers before you and don't have something to counter them, you get rolled. Sentinel's pretty much abusing everyone in Crucible now, and Dawnblade's been making a comeback recently. Those supers are really strong at swinging matches in your favor.

Disagree.
-
Fist of Havoc would be incredibly pointless lol
-
What about Stormcaller then?
-
Tickle fingers needs a damage boost, not more survivability.
-
Oh no, I wasn't advocating for Storm to have more damage resistance. But since your post stated that Supers shouldn't have damage resistance at all since they all ohk you, Storm(and similarly Chaos Reach) are where that train of thought couldn't apply. I don't even think Storm needs a damage buff, but the chained lightning needs to do the same damage as the initial lightning being chained from your first/closest target. Although if the damage buff only affected the TTK for killing most enemy Supers and not a non-Supered opponent, I'd be down for that too.
-
I mean, chaos reach really insta-kills everything in front of it, so it, for all intents and purposes, one shots. Just not in the traditional sense. I haven't used stormtrance too much, but from what I have used, it seems a little weak in the damage dept. Both in initial and chain lighting damage.

Chaos Reach:
But Chaos Reach really doesn't instakill everything. If it did, many more people(outside of "hipsters") would actually use it as a counter to things like Spectral Blades in high Comp, because it actually has an excellent neutral game, as well as insane uptime via Geomags. It requires either 4 or 5 "ticks" to kill a Super, on what's already a difficult, obstructing Super to aim/control. And still requires 3 ticks to kill normal guardians(like Stormtrance). It has an incredibly short duration, and its damage doesn't exactly register immediately, otherwise people could literally instant swipe across at enemies and kill them like they're scribbling wildly with a marker. In my experience, you have to focus enemies(even PvE ones who die in one hit) for a little bit or no damage will register on them.(It's like "bullets" weren't being fired at the time your reticle was on them because of a slow "rate of fire".)
Storm:
On the other hand, Stormtrance itself is honestly fine where it's at. Again, the only thing I could see them buffing on it is its TTK on enemy Supers. Or maybe reduce the cooldown between Ionic Blinks. That's it really. If someone uses Landfall and doesn't use I. Blink, that's the player's decision to sacrifice survivability/maneuverability(and duration from Transcendence) for an instant kill in CQC on Super activation. And if people need/want more damage resistance mid-Super, Enhancement Cores(I know, sore subject) can be used on armor for an additional 20% - 25% resistance from weapon damage in PvP.
Then don't activate it out in the open where you can be shot from any angle.
Then don't activate it out in the open where you can be shot from any angle.
I don't, I never run chaos reach in PvP. It's not ideal. Nova or Dawnblade or if its control Well.

Chaos Reach is very usable. I can get at least 2 kills out of it per use. Not that I play Warlocks often enough for that to be impressive, but I do consistently with it. Just because it ain't meta doesn't mean it doesn't have a place.

That's dumb lol. Everyone focuses on you when you're in a super, plus most of them you have to come out of cover to get close to people. They need damage resistance just not what they have now.
-
People usually just run away when I pop my super, I don't get focused.
-
Because they are too powerful right now, and/or you're playing bad players. The whole reason this post was made is to point out that the damage resistance is so high on supers that the only way to counter them is to run away. If you play a good team in comp, and you use any of the supers that don't have that much resistance, you get teamshot into oblivion.
-
I mainly run golden gun, and it doesn't even have that much resistance, at least compared to something like Sentinel or Sunbreaker.
-
It’s always funny to see these posts because two guardians can gun down a super easily. Soloing a super is difficult but not impossible. It really becomes hard when people run away instead of fighting and they are literally getting hit in the back .
