I agree SBMM needs to return to quickplay I haven't touched pvp in weeks as its just not fun... and from I hear its gotten worse and looking at the numbers on warmind.io well pvp has less people playing it now than pre-forsaken!!

SBMM has zero place in non-ranked playlists. If you aren't willing to play anyone and everyone then stick to comp

Yet since SBMM has been removed pvp numbers in quickplay has dropped and the increase in posts echoing that SBMM is the reason they stopped playing pvp has increased! so yeah your entitled to your opinion but QP has become very sweaty on the PC and is only getting worse as more people avoid it and only sweaty players are left.... Personally I prefer playing games with people at or around my skill level as its challenging but fun! I can improve steadly and move up but without SBMM its too varied and most of the time your just getting stomped which is not fun! There is no good reason not to have SBMM in all modes the only people that dont like it are the people at the top who want easy games instead of games with people at their own level!!

It's just that people git 600 and moved on to rdr2 or other games, in fact when bungie dropped sbmm in qp pvp had the highest numbers since launch
Personally I prefer playing games with people at or around my skill level as its challenging but fun! I can improve steadly and move up but without SBMM its too varied and most of the time your just getting stomped which is not fun!
You may very well be fighting people on your skill level, just has to do with rng matchmaking, the match may put you against players who stomp on you, who you stomp or even matches, fair in its randomness. Also sbmm actually removes all incentive to improve, theres no point if you competition just goes up as well
There is no good reason not to have SBMM in all modes the only people that dont like it are the people at the top who want easy games instead of games with people at their own level!!
There's actually a ton of reasons, it's been tried twice now and majority hated it both times firstly, also it adds lag and search times, makes different skill level friends not want to play together, teaches new players that strategies that work on weak players will work on everyone which get ingrained and cant be switched easily, removes reason to improve, forces sweaties to compete in mlg tourney style games each match and punishes them for simply being good. They dont have more shields or deal extra damage. There should never be any form of sbmm in an unranked playlist. That is the entire point, quickplay by definition is meant to grab the first possible players and toss them in together, in no other game community have I ever seen players asking for dev protection from the better half in non-competitive modes. You want a balanced game? Go to comp, qp is for matching everyone and anyone

That would also increase lag because there would be less people to match with. If there was not a bell curve when it comes to skill what you say I would have no issue with but since there are less people on the end of the spectrum in those skill ranges you would run into a different issue, which is extreme lag

Editado por PilksUK: 11/2/2018 10:15:52 PMLoad times have already increased due to less people playing pvp and those numbers keep dropping... as much as pvp wasn't perfect before SBMM was turned off numbers have dropped steadily not gone up as the pvp minority crowd said it would as SBMM was the problem with QP according to them! On average Quickplay had around 16% of the players playing pre-forsaken and pre-sbmm being off now its 10% on average and dropping https://warmind.io/activity (stats combined for 3 platforms info from bungies own api) So we keep it off and pvp dies or people accept the none vocal majority of D2 players dont like pvp how it is now and something needs to change.

Here's the thing. You just -blam!-ed up your own fact. So pre forsaken...do you mean the patch for forsaken or do you mean the forsaken launch date. If you mean the patch which put special weapons in both primary slots pvp number when up drastically... In the warmind update is when the SBMM was removed my dude...it was recently put in again it feels like They didn't go down. I mean more people might be leaving because of the shot gun spam but this happens with every meta. The number go up an down. So irrelevant point on your part BUT they might be going down faster because we've been through this meta before I will give you that. If you're talking about post launch there are still plenty of players leveling up characters. I'm still leveling up most of my characters and I only play on two of them lol (-blam!- Titans, yes I said it).

That's not what he said at all

Its his point tho... To quote him:
Currently we match high vs low skilled players almost exclusively. That’s like throwing a person into the water (who can’t swim) instead of giving him swimming lessons.
We currently have Skill based match making turned off!! so his whole post reads like he wants SBMM turned on!

Editado por Sagg: 11/2/2018 10:05:22 PMNo it doesn't. It reads he wants lower skilled players to play lower skilled players. But the fact of the matter is you cannot become better if you don't get mistakes punished. People of a lower players skill won't be able to punish that players mistakes because they won't know he made one. The thought processes aren't the same. With that being said, each "level" of skill has a subset of differing skill levels. The NFL has many teams, all of them are not equally skilled. The current worst team in the league, the raiders, still have to play the best team in the league, the Rams. They don't just get to skip that game. The score will not be close unless the Rams are just -blam!-ing around. It will be a beat down. Just like this video game. A good player using non meta weapons is not as dangerous as a good player WITH meta weapons.
