*People are BEYOND excited for Forsaken. Nobody in my clan has expressed any reservations. They just want the DLC out NOW because they're that excited for it.
Then your clan hasn't learnt a thing from d1, I'm sure they were beyond hyped for d2 as well...until 2 weeks after it dropped
*The people that actively play and enjoy this game agree, there were some great moments in Destiny 1, but Destiny 2 is also very fun. The handcrafted raids, raid lairs, and stories are great, no matter how short they are.
No they aren't, story has always sucked for destiny campaigns, vanilla "a world without light and ghual earning the traveler"? Coo abysmal "hi there osiris, bye osiris" and warminds tiny one were pretty terrible compared to any other game on the market plot and complexity wise, as for the raid Leviathan is meh with 3 encouters feeling like you're getting the key to the final rather then d1s sense of pushing deeper into the enemies lair and the raid lairs while having fun encouters are a failure due to how short they are, eow and spire have less encouters then even crota and half the raid is a pathetic leapfrog or jumping puzzle with only the final boss felling like a raid.
D1 raid > D2 raid any day ever
*The new weapon slots are different, but not any worse. People just really aren't complaining about that.
LOL what!? It's one of d2s most complained about aspects and is why bungie are changing it for forsaken, this is one of if not the biggest problems in d2
*Faction rallies are improved, but need more work. Basically no one in my clan cares about the Reknown. It's easy to get 12 tokens in ~5 minutes with or without a full faction set. It's easy to clear out the sectors by yourself. Bring a shotgun and run straight for the boss. Pack something that heals your or keeps you alive longer (invisibility). The reason people found exploits to tokens wasn't because it was "so boring" it was just because they wanted to get it done as quick as possible, just like every other thing in this game. They want to be the first ones with the new stuff from the factions. First ones with new ornaments, and first ones with catalysts. Because people like to one phase Calus, that must also mean Calus is boring or bad in some way?
Uh, actually the resin they found exploits was because they so felt the normal way was unrewarding they had to resort to it, 12 tokens is nothing when the final goal is 1000, sorry but the changes to factions only made it an even more tedious grind, if activities rewarded on par and there was some kind of extra activity it wouldn't be so bad (e.g.. A full raid = 100 tokens, strike = 25 and nf = 35) grinding the same public events that we've done for a year is far removed from exciting, if there were a token exploit out now you bet people would be all over it because killing brain cells grinding year old public events < Exploiting
In conclusion, the "fans" that are actually playing the game, don't really care about anything you said.
Actually they do, in fact they are the vast majority seeing as these issues are being patched up with forsaken, you may wish to reevaluate what you wrote and consider changing "fan" to "clueless fanboy"
Sure there can be improvements, but D1 was also pretty bad at times too.
Never was it half as bad as d2 has been.
We know Bungie will make things better, we know what to expect when we buy these games.
You know what to expect? You expect a unfinished mess from a triple A dev? Your prerogative...
We don't overhype the game, then fall on our a$$ because our hype bubble was popped.
Yet that's exactly what you seem to be doing with forsaken.
I don't regret a dollar of my purchase. So stop trying to talk like you know what's best for everyone, because in all honesty, people are still playing this game and enjoying it.
People are still playing? Yep. 10% of the playerbase, a massive fail by any standard and that 90% left for very good reason.
Do I agree with all ops points? Nope, but d2 is as close to a good game as the sky is to earth.
