As we all know, eververse is the sole thing keeping destiny two from being great.
Not the only thing. Just the only thing getting attention.
the very concept of eververse in the first place is actually very offensive.
*Spits out coffee Do you mean that the concept of a microtransaction service is offensive? Because from reading the rest of this post, I don't think this means what you think it does. Maybe you mean the characters are offensive, which I'll get into in a minute. But think before you type.
In destiny, awoken obviously represent black or Hispanic people.
Other than, you know, the awoken are white. Plus, you can already make your character a variety of races in the pointless character creation screen. But I'm gonna assume you mean more than appearance by this.
They came to earth from the reef, which is just as foreign to the earth people as Africa would have been to the white man.
Hi! Back from some lore research. Actually, the Awoken were originally from Earth. They had attempted to escape the Darkness by leaving the solar system, wandered into a nebula, and mysterious events caused them to become the Awoken. They simply made their home in the Reef. So if this is the good analogy you're trying to make, colored people were originally from America (land of "the white man") or whatever, left, got mutated into weird glowing hybrids? Maybe you should rethink that.
Bungie doesn’t seem to care about them much either, as the Reef was a prominent and very progressive idea in destiny 1.
Contradictory statement.
But Bungie chose to remove this location
So? Sequels often remove old locations in order to move on to new ones. It's a bold claim that it was solely racism that led Bungie to remove the Reef. And if they did have such disdain for this imaginary people, why have them in the first place?
It was populated almost entirely with awoken, and had females in positions of power.
Oh, let's not get feminist on this. Stay on topic! It's not like she was the only woman in power, either, or with an essential role. Ikora Rey? Eris Mourn? Just gonna ignore them for the sake of your own argument, are we?
We have the ONLY awoken female in the game, and what does she do? She essentially just sells trinkets.
Seeing how most of the content production focus has been on EV, I'd hardly say that it isn't a center of focus for Bungie. Nice to see that your progressive views have disdain for someone working hard to make a living under such community hate, too. And they're cool looking trinkets, too. Also, they have her at all, which doesn't help your claims.
she is sexualized as well
Yeah, because I see DeviantArt all the time of Everis. Sheltered child much?
If we can show people how Bungie is being borderline racist with this character, maybe we can pressure them into removing it that way
Or, you could debate actual arguments that are relevant to the topic at hand. That's all I got to say.
