How do you have vertical progression without obsoleting old gear? You really, usually, don't, which is why every single RPG does this.

Ya but the old gear isn't 100% useless and is still some of the best gear in the game.
-
If it isn't 100% useless, what's the complaint?
-
I ment in normal rpg games. Not destiny. Endgame loot is still end game loot even if there's better stuff
-
Borderlands doesnt
-
Last I checked borderlands doesn't have anything resembling infusion. You are fully expected to ditch the old.
-
Thats right, your experiance playing the game dictates your level not rng. They do have the differant OP levels on the weapons though
-
Borderlands guns are almost entirely RNG, the -blam!- are you on.
-
I believe that he ment to say that experience in Borderlands determines your level. Light determines your level in Destiny and to raise your Light level you have to grind a ton of gear out of the RNG loot system.
-
Your level in BL can be as high as you want, if you're still using L20 guns at L40 you're gonna have a bad time.
-
True but the weapon itself dosen't determine your level.
-
No, but your level still matters shit. Gear matters.
-
I stash "The Old" in my vault and use them with other characters who are lower level. In Destiny there is no reason to keep your old gear around because you can find green and blue gear with higher Light then weapons earned in two out of the three Raids that are Legendary or higher. If that isn't broken progression I really don't know what is.
-
You could always keep them if you enjoy them. That's what I did.
-
I did keep my year one gear. And I greatly desire to use it in the future. And we should be able to use it on any content we see fit. But alas we can't so an entire Iron Banner kit from House of Wolves sits unused collecting dust. Just like Destiny will sit unused collecting dust until Bungie changes this unfriendly progression system.
-
Cool. I use my old weapons whenever I want, because I don't spend 100% of my time in endgame activities. This is literally a non-issue.
-
For you. For me it is. And I never said this post was everyone's opinion. But thank you for the debate. You make good points without going full blown crazy. Just the type of person I enjoy disagreeing with.
-
You know, when I'm actively trying to be belligerent people say I have good opinions. When I tone it down I get insulted. What gives.
-
Editado por AlienNumber6: 4/19/2016 1:27:12 AMMaybe your giving your honest opinion and people LABLING you belligerent..
-
You can update drops easily enough, as well as levels and whatnot.
-
Editado por TrooperHR: 4/17/2016 5:18:42 AMYou wipe it clean in your next release. Destiny 1 weapons are usable in Destiny 1. Destiny 2 weapons are usable in Destiny 2. Because it's a first person shooter above everything else. That's what most enjoy above all, superb shooting mechanics.
-
Wise one this Trooper.
-
This isn't an RPG in my opinion. Not even close.
-
It's got vertical progression of items. That means it has to behave the same way.
-
Vertical progression is killing this game dead. And dispite the fact that Destiny has some RPG elements it is a FPS first and foremost.
