Dear Bungie developers. My real name is Jason Ayotte. I have taken time out of my very busy work week to write you today. I personally believe it will be a complete waste of my time. But Deej said he was listening so I decided to give it a shot. I played your game from the Alpha stage up to a few months ago. When Destiny was launched I must say I was completely underwhelmed. Zero time was taken on the story. The game could be finished in a few hours and the Light system is limiting. So why did I keep playing? Because your weapons and the shooting mechanics were awesome. The game was fun to play. I did my first run on The Vault of Glass and found it incredibly intense.
Then The Dark Below dropped and the thing I HATE about Destiny surfaced. What I hate about your game the most with one hundred percent certainty is the Light system and the way you use it to make our weapons, armor and activities obsolete. Because your game is designed like this it dosen't reward your play time. Your left constantly trying to grind for something that will be obsolete sooner or later. So in my opinion there is no reason to play this. Another thing I hate about the Light system is the fact I have to wear the armor that has more Light. So even though I have this awesome set of Dead Orbit armor I can't use it in endgame activities. So I stopped playing for awhile.
Then The House of Wolves dropped. In my opinion this was your finest hour. Mainly because you could use and wear everything. It worked around your terrible Light system and rewarded your playtime by allowing players to upgrade anything that was Exotic or Legendary. This gave anything that dropped in any activity worth. I even played The Crucible and Iron Banner game modes! I almost never play multiplayer games! I can't really comment on the state of player versus player except to say that I quit playing it due to lag and lag switchers. Get some dedicated servers for christ's sake but I digress.
Then The Taken King dropped. And once again Bungie you hit us over the head with the Light system. Once again everything I like to use and wear is obsolete. And now it's one hundred percent worse because of Infusion. Now I'm stuck finding dozens of high level year two weapons just to get the one new weapon I do like to acceptable levels of Light. It was then that I had enough and stopped playing. At this point your game is totally unrewarding to play so it sits on my shelf collecting dust.
Now to address your attitude towards the community. I will not write a ton of insults to explain why some but not all in this community hate your guts. I personally will tell you why I am disappointed with you instead. Bungie as a collective group you really don't care about player feedback. If you developers cared about player feedback we would still have elemental primary weapons, year one weapons and armor would be able to be infused, player vs. player changes wouldn't effect player vs enemy gameplay and the list goes on. Instead you say you listen and then explain through live streams why you won't or can't implement it. Then you wonder why people are being aggressive towards you during those live streams. I'm going to come out and say right now death threats are unwarranted and stupid. But stop and ask yourselves why people were so angry. If you guys and gals at Bungie can't figure it out I will tell you. Many but not all of us feel completely ignored. Later after the stream where you got lit up for about an hour you said if you have constructive feedback to come here and use this forum. Many here have given you constructive feedback since the Alpha and you completely ignored us. Yet you act like all anyone has to do to get your attention is to come here and write something constructive. This isn't the case.
I still want to play your game Bungie. But I work fifty hours a week. Your game needs to reward and respect my playtime before I can play it again. This is my feedback. Bring back Etheric Light so we can max Light ALL weapons and armor. Or at very least add Infusion to those items and make it a bit more forgiving.

62 RespuestasWe appreciate the feedback. We do listen on these forums, as well as many other place. We will never be able to implement everyone's ideas, especially since they sometimes contradict each other. It's always great to read well worded posts free of insults. Thanks.

I stopped reading after: "I personally think it's a complete waste of time"
you were right
1 RespuestaGreat post. The Light system are a pair of shackles. With the April update they are being loosened but not yet removed.
-
2 RespuestasWell stated. I also feel that this backwards mentality of relegating the only worthwhile content into a small handful of levels also exacerbates the burnt-out and boredom of the content way more quickly than it should.

He even mained at Titan...... Gr8 post BTW I r8/8

3 RespuestasMost people who have played an MMO realize that you always chase the next stat level (in this case light level), and in every MMO gear becomes obsolete with every update. Also in an MMO you might raid and not see a new piece of gear or the one you are looking for for several weeks, it's all chance which makes it worth doing. Don't listen to anyone saying the RNG or grind is unbearable. That's an MMO, it's suppose to be a grind. There's only 2 real problems. The content, raids especially are so, so easy, and therefore have no longevity. And there is a small lack in balance in stats, perks, guns, gear, etc. And as long as I always have the same 2-3 guns on me for pve or pvp, with specific perks, I'm good. And what's so exotic about 85% of exotics? Why would I want to take a B.Gemini scout into battle over a Tunelo SR4, Cocotus, Hung Jury? Most exotic guns are situational, at best. Exotics shouldn't be just every day drops, like "where did you get that....I don't remember, the night fall, a PVP match, whatever". They should be very rare, and very special. Helm of Saint 14 is my idea of an exotic you got right. So many uses, completely redefines the defender titan, turns the bubble into a weapon. That's special. But come on, a helmet that makes rocket launchers track targets, boots that make shoulder charge do more damage in the air(titans for example).....that's just lazy and making gear just for the sake of making gear.

Well said mate. Bump

3 RespuestasHere is a REAL constructive feedback. Stop playing the dumbass game and delete Destiny from your memory

1 RespuestaYou lost me at "the thing I HATE about Destiny..." Why would someone continue to play a video game that they hate? It beggars belief!
-
Silly...if they were going to fix it...they would have back in 2013 with Joe Staten.
-
You lost me at the game could be finished in a couple of hours. You started with extremely over exaggerating your words which is not a good way to start. Sorry, rest was pointless to read. But I hope it was better written.

4 RespuestasIt is one to one infusion and they brought back some year one legendary weapons. No game of this kind carries weapons forward forever.

6 RespuestasHere's my constructive feedback. Remove the radar from Iron Banner/Trials of O'Snipers. Put the ammo back to what it was. Make your own path(Do not follow other established mmo rpg type game evolvement with leaving any weapons/gear behind) Rotating maps always for Iron Banner/Trials of O'Snipers SRL once a month on with new tracks added Double Glimmer/Consumable drop special events Red bars in PvP frozen in place or cant cause damage to other players until no longer red barring(also have their character turn red for easy reference Optional matchmaking to EVERY activity Increase fireteams to 6 players for Patrols Maybe even Pvp has its own weapon base, just maybe.....

Bump :')

but hold on, infusion is 1:1 now, so you can wear whatever you want, just have to sub out your highest light gear... its great. Ive only played since after TTK so havent experienced this freedom
-
I agree they need to hear this and apply it
-
I love this, a lot. This only thing I have to disagree here is the infusion system since Bungie finally has 100% infusion into the given item now. Still, they need to fix the loot system more than the Light system. Ironically, the Light system is also a victim of years of shitty loot dropping. I'm nearly 300 Light and all I get are 260s-270s 80% of the time. My odds of getting something around 290+ are 3% chance at best, with 1% of that being at a Light level where I can use it for something other than Glimmer farming. If the Loot System was better, than I could use the phrase "Use it, Lose it, or Infuse it". Unfortunately, it's more like "Infuse it or Lose it"
-
Very well said agree with you post 100% i only hope they really do listen an do.

4 RespuestasEditado por gallp13: 4/17/2016 9:05:19 AMApologies if I missed in post - what are you suggesting as the progression system that starts day one and finishes day 3,650 ?
-
As much as I agree, Deej himself said we on the forums are only "anecdotal". Meaning our arguments are based only on opinion rather than actual studies. Yet we've done the absolute best we can without being given direct access to the coding, I can show many spreadsheets or graphs that test comparisons of weaponry, armour, enemy levels, light levels, PvM/PvP. While I know Deej isn't the person who controls where developers' time is spent, he is the front man in a sense and to hear him say that was disheartening. My long winded point being; I wouldn't get your hopes up.

2 RespuestasEditado por Valkalla: 4/17/2016 4:54:35 PMWhile year one weapons being lost is really sad, and for the record I don't agree with leaving them behind, the legendaries and exotics anyway, the infusion system has become much more forgiving with this new update. With 100% infusion rate, there is no light wasted. Also, I've seen drop rates and light levels increase favorably. All packages now use a smart loot system that nearly guarantees you will get a piece of gear higher than your current overall light level. Also, nearly any endgame activity you can think of now leads to 335 light, which is absolutely wonderful. Am I sad that year 1 weapons are being trickled back in when they should never have been allowed to become obsolete? Yeah, but only for others who grinded hard for their stuff (I bought Vanilla Destiny but my PS3 fried a week after so I never got to play HoW or TDB. Waited till TTK to get Destiny again when I bought my PS4). There's a lot of stuff they need to work on, imo. However, I think the quality of life changes made in this update are really helping this game to not feel so much like a chore, and to feel more rewarding in general. If you, or anyone reading have the time, I wrote a post on a suggestion for a chroma crafting station. I really think it would be an improvement on the current chroma system and an awesome quality of life improvement with a lot of potential. Thanks in advance :) I appreciate feedback and bumps etc.. :)

1 RespuestaI think what it really all comes down to, is that most players want PVE and PVP to be separate. When you nerf a weapon or armor for PVP, leave it alone in PVE. If there is a quest that requires PVP to get the reward, remember that not everybody wants to play PVP and make a way to get the same item in a PVE quest. Just separate the two. Yes, better drops would be great, but I see that as just being part of the grind. I also think that sometimes patching a cheese is not needed. People buy a game to have fun playing it. If having fun means shooting a damn cave for hours on end, so what? It hurts no one. Some cheese of course needs patched. Destiny was an extremely fun game to play, but it is quickly turning into more work then fun.
