Did you ever play Halo? Bungie never gave out a lot of stuff on Bungie day. More a celebration than anything.

I don't think the type of game matters in my opinion. Bungie did what they always do on Bungie day. People just don't have the right expectations.

They gave out stuff. You just had to get lucky and play with devs to actually get gifts.

I played Halo 3 but never heard of Bungie Day until this year. Halo wasn't exactly a big interest of mine
