Thank God for Destiny clans, if it weren't for them I wouldn't have met the great people that help me enjoy this game to its fullest extent. But after listening to a recent Guardian Radio Podcast and knowing how much Bungie (especially DeeJ) has pushed for people to become involved in them, it's left me wondering why hasn't the system been leveraged in-game?
And it got me thinking "what if…"
What if clan members in your friends roster were denoted with a colored bar next to their name?
Similar to the bar that shows who's in a fire team. Recently playing Iron Banner when everyone uses the same emblem proves the need for this.
What if clan members were floated to the top of our roster? Thanks Muddlin Through
What if we had a Clan specific roster?
Let's face it, there's no way one can expect to friend every person within some clans, they're just to big. Sure we have a handful of people that we play with regularly and they're in our friends list, but there are times when they're not available. Give us a means that allows us to easily find other clan members, in-game.
What if within this Clan Roster, users could visually denote certain attributes?
Attributes like they play with a mic (symbolized by a speaker), that they're a "safe gamer" (symbolized by "PG") and what game modes they're looking to do (symbolized by in game icons [Raid's Skull, ToO Eye, etc.] ).
SLIGHT BUILD TO ABOVE What if players looking to do an activity had and LFG placed next to their name?
Simplification of above. Give the players the ability to simply select a LFG box under settings that then shows up next to their name.
What if this Clan Roster was sortable by said attributes?
Looking to pull together a raid team that has mics and is adult friendly? Make a couple of selections and boom, there they are. (Ideally this would become a LFG tab in our menus, but that's another discussion.)
What if you could select up to five guardian's at once and send a single "invite to game" message?

At the end of the day all I'm suggesting is that within a game, who's creators built around the goal of pushing team work and communication, players are given a tool that allows us to more easily accomplish said goal. BNet and Outside LFG sites are great and all, but when system UI and the requirement to have a CPU/Phone next to you becomes barriers to this experience I'd argue the game has failed at this part. Not being a game designer myself, I don't know if there are barriers such as Last Gen Memory or Network permissions that get in the way, but if these aren't a core issue I certainly hope that we'll see something similar to this prior to Destiny 2.
**Would love to hear from the community, what would you want to see for in-game clan support? It's easy to complain about things, let's instead bring ideas and answers. Don't have anything to add? Bump/Like if you support the idea of giving Clans more tools in-game.**

Didn't read your very long post, but I second for any idea that puts making, joining, and managing clans in-game.

I would be happy if the clan members would just show at the top of the fiends list for guardians online.

I would love in game clans like back in the halo 2 days, really miss that feature. In game clan would also help with the lack of in game matchmaking. But with that said i doubt in game clans will ever be introduced in destiny, maybe destiny 2 due to the cross last gen limitations. I feel like so much of bungie vision of distiny was left out due to destiny begin developed for last gen consoles. Destiny is the last game i'am buying that's made for both last and current gen consoles ready for next gen games coming out soon.
