My personal tactic is similar to this along with maxing out bounties as soon as you get level 4. Run the story with one or two higher level players and always on the hardest possible mode with the lowest character as the team leader. Do both story and crucible bounties and turn them in all at once. You will bounce 2 sometimes 3 levels at a time. Having two of the same character helps when you hold some of the armor and weapons for every 5 levels. You will totally slay everything in your path.
