Tell The Halo Project if you liked or did not like it when 343 Industries showed part of Sierra 117's face and why.

It made total sense, both practically and thematically. Practically because at this point, the silent protagonist niche is void, John no longer fills that role and it's arguable he never truly did. How can I "project" myself onto him if he has a name I don't share, a voice I don't have, and a personality and backstory that isn't mine? It was obvious Halo 4 was moving away from that tired old tradition by developing his character, which brings me to my next point. By removing the helmet they're showing that the legendary Master Chief has now become John, an individual human now starting to realize his humanity. Showing his face was the symbolic representation of that growth. Of course fanboys are going to deny that because they can't move past obsolete writing from 10 years ago, but what 343i did made perfect sense.
