The cloud of darkness over your sight slowly evaporates as the light shines through the fog of newly-conscious eyes. With a new and startling awareness gripping your mind, you begin to wonder, "where am I?" Cold asphalt caresses your aching body. You are in an alley. A half-empty dumpster sits several feet from you, with an awful stench aerating from within. A wet newspaper page lies just beyond your reach, and as you adjust yourself and sit up, you reach for this daily archive of local events. It is undecipherable with a blurred picture. Something is wrong here. Looking further, a door with no handle stands to your left. A shattered beer bottle is broken just outside of the door. The air here is chilling and dry, feeling lonely and giving no sound away. There is no sound at all, in fact, aside from what seems to be a low creaking in the distance. Clouds are above you, threatening rain. Looking at yourself, you see that you are wearing torn jeans and a stained shirt. There may be vomit stained on the left shoulder. That, or some kind of mix that splashed up onto the shirt recently. Your stomach is curling, and your head feels a distant ache. You cannot help feeling that this is the last place you should be. In your back pocket, a wallet awaits analysis. Performing this, you find an ID. The name reads "Greg Langley" yet the picture does not look familiar. Is this you? There are $22 one-dollar bills in this wallet, as well as a credit card and a solid, blood red card with a black line on the back and a black square. No barcode. You wonder what this is for, yet have the feeling that it may be important. Rising to your feet, you walk to the end of the alley. Down the sidewalk to your left, there appears to be several parked cars beside meters that have expired. There are tickets on each windshield. To your right, there is a ladder leaning against a closed shop, presumably leading to the second-story rooftop. Directly across the street is a restaurant with stained glass windows that make it difficult to see inside. Where will you go, and what will you choose to take with you?
