The Keepers of the Light is a clan of serious destiny players primarily on XBOX 360. Our goal is to build a close knit community of brothers and sisters to support and play with. The emphasis in the Keepers is on teamwork and communication in PvE and PvP scenarios. Keeper representation in the crucible will be competitive, and teams will be expected to work together to strike awe and respect into their opponents. We hope to make a name for ourselves in the first few months of Destiny, and will be very active in all modes of play. You can expect theory-crafting, coordinated raiding, and well developed competitive play in this clan alongside a mature, fun and skillful group of players. "For centuries we have fought to keep the light alive, and now the sun is rising once more. "

Bungie has addressed the question that has been plaguing everyone's mind when they announced that Destiny will be "Always online"...
How long will the servers last?
Edit: While this brings no definite answer, it certainly gives us an idea of how long Destiny will last. With that much server dedication...we can expect a LOOONG run from Bungie. Since there is at least two people there everday (with shift changing of course).
Edit: I know people coming in have been expecting an answer to when the servers are coming online and whether the midnight release is even worth going to. The answer is no, they will probably start up the servers a few hours before the actual release to better prepare for the incoming DROVES of players. This thread however is to help set the minds of the people who are worried what will happen after the 10 years are up. This is all speculation and just a way to help keep us guardians busy as we wait for the official release.
Here is a reply to a comment I did for natS backward about what this thread is about:
We know that this game will last for about 10 years at the least and maybe 15 at the most, that is common knowledge. But the few facts that your missing is that the servers may last quite longer because of the preparations that Bungie is making. Sure they may stop with DLC and huge updates, but what about the fact that this game is completely online?
As soon as the servers shut down the game that you invested so much of your time and money into will be wasted and your discs and cases become paperweights. I highly doubt Bungie would do that to us. So they may start asking for subscription fees so that they still have money flowing in to keep the servers running. This is mostly speculation though.
So yes, your right that it all depends on how well everything goes. Honestly though...do you really think a game this huge would *fizzle out in that span of time? I mean, look at WoW. They've been going strong for 10 years, *they are a PC exclusive and they show no signs of stopping. Destiny has the capacity to be even bigger than WoW *because it is on multiple platforms including PC (eventually). We'll see how it goes once the ten years are up.
