I was reading Edge magasine and thought I'd list some stuff that I hadn't heard or didn't know was confirmed.
- Left trigger raises weapon, COD style.
- The current engine allows for areas to be a maximum of 2 square kilometers in size.
- The cars in the Old Russia demo show the desperate attempts of people trying to flee Earth on the facilities space shuttles. - "We're always trying to imbue these places with questions - a lot of them we wont answer." - This allows for a more open story canon
so they aren't tied to the events of previous games.
- Public events will happen regularly, the will work on rotation and will be specifically themed to the local area.
- In general, if you come into an open sky area it means you are likely to meet other players. They are still looking for visual language to let people determine when they are in a 'private' or 'public' area.
- If you run into a private area from a public area you cannot be followed unless invited. They're trying to make that transition easy for the player to recognise.
- If your in a destination for one hour your likely to run into 50 - 100 other players.
- They will give reasons to revisit past areas with a story mission or to gather resources to ensure there is always a population wherever you go and the population isn't split up.
- Fireteams limited to 3 to stop mob mentality, running and gunning aimlessly. Or 'clown town' as they like to call it.
- Real world landmarks are something they will play with when creating Destiny.
- There willl be a crafting sytem.
- Far Cry and Borderlands were looked at as inspiration and considered for what was done well and what could be improved.
- Class abilities are work in progress - they can be modified and customised to player preferences.
- There will not be an open voice channel with people you meet in social areas. That's why they have emoticons.
- Next gen version of game is only cosmetic in terms of differences.
- Its possible Destiny 2 (2016) will not be on 360 or PS3. If people are still buying stuff for 360 PS3 they will look at it as a high priority though, they''ll cross that bridge when they come to it.
Sorry to be that guy but I'd thought I'd bump since there was some stuff people might like to know.
