Gjhallarhorn needs a nerf
Face it, its the best gun in the game. The reason why its OP because of the Wolfpack rounds, which means firing one rocket that deals the damage equivilant to firing two rockets. "STFU Mazzeroth I don't want PvP crybabies to nerf my sweet sweet BEST WEAPON IN THE GAME!!" The damage is too much, and the Wolfpack rounds need to deal half the damage it deals now, so Gjhallarhorn is not worthless, but still makes a difference. I'm tired of people that avoid the fact that the weapon's OP and instead reccomends it to be never sold by Xûr. "Mazzeroth this is what an exotic weapon needs to be." No, they need to feel unique, change up playstyles, and better than legendaries, not to be blatantly OP. Gjhallarhorn needs a nerf so that end game PvE content is a challenge, not a cakewalk for free loot.

With RNG involved, it essentially means those who are lucky enough to get the drop *including scrubs that go 0.0 KD in Crucible/Iron Banner, Scrubs that AFK in Nightfalls and people that are carried through Raids seem to get it quite frequently, and have an inherent advantage against everyone else. The 2nd best Rocket launcher in the game, arguably the Hunger of Crota only does half the damage Gjhallarhorn does. How is that balanced when someone can do 2x the damage, not because of skill, not because of dedication or grinding, but because of pure RNG luck. That's like making an AR or Scout Rifle that one shots everyone and saying it's skill because you were lucky enough to get it. Also people need to stop ripping on him being level 27. You don't need to be a professional pitcher to know that one is pitching badly. You don't have to be a professional athlete to know that a team is getting hosed by the refs. You don't have to be a mechanic to know that yours butchered the job on your car. You don't have to be a plumber to know that the pipes shouldn't be sticking out of the walls. You don't have to be a level 32 with Gjhallahorn to be able to do the math that it does 2x more damage and it's based on luck if you get it. Also there's a big difference between Nerfing it so that it's bad or just as powerful as the other Rocket Launchers and nerfing it so that it's still the best launcher, but the rest can hang with it, or making it so that a direct shot from a non lock on rocket launcher does more damage to reward those for using non lockons and being good at aiming and leading their shots. That would be a good method of balancing things out. Let people that cant aim use Gjallarhorns and HoC's and let those that are great at aiming and leading shots do more damage with One Way Tickets and such.

3 RepliesGjallahorn doesn't change that much, I think a normal rocket does around 3300 damage, gjallahorn+Wolfpack deals about 5000 damage. A 50% damage boost is all it has, it isn't op in crucible, and it isn't a major game changer, it just makes stuff a little bit faster. My vote: Don't nerf the gjallahorn
