Vex Mythoclast is overpowered in Crucible
I know I am not very good, but the most common weapon to kill me is
Vex Mythoclast.
Decided this when I went head to head with a fully uplevelled Thunderlord and I died instantly.
A primary of more damage than a heavy.
Only answer to catch then unawares and shotgun them. Or snipe from across the map.
I do not know enough people doing raids to get one myself. But I like the fact there are so many different weapons.
BTW I like my VoG shotgun!

Having gotten my vex about 4 days ago, I'm 100% certain of it's ideal range and why proper strafing completely screws them. Granted, I have noticed that due to it's spread, the vex can land headshots when the reticule is low chest/mid chest, which is crazy.

Edited by Zoop: 2/9/2015 1:38:18 AMThunderlord is a bit of a bad choice to go up against a fusion rifle (thats what is, its the range it has, and how fast it can kill), unless you got enough distance. You say yourself you arent a great player, a powerful weapon like the thunderlord requires quite a bit of skill to utilize efficiently (use it as an auto scout rifle) The vex really isnt op, its strong yes, but certainly has enough weaknesses. Any precision weapon (hand cannons mainly, but also most auto rifless) can outgun it. But like i said, treat it like a fusion rifle, dont run into it, keep your distance.

Vex was my first exotic best weapon in my arsenal it's really good cuz it's hard to get and also why would u waste ur heavy using a machine gun in crucible if ur bad machine gun take skill

He's not even complaining guys, he's just saying that is OP. The Mythoclast definitely is OP, I go positive every time I use it.

Yeah I don't think so. I honestly have it a shot. Found my scout worked better for long to mid range. The last word worked better for short to mid. I found the vex has a sweet spot for its killing zone somewhere after mid, but not in the long range. A very select window. I can out shoot most vex users with a scout or my TLW. I wished I could have used it prior to the nerf. I'd also need to replace field scout with send it, it may make it more effective but it's just not as stable as a scout.

Vex is a powerful gun but with good practice you can definitely outgun those types of players. Try using handcannons such as thorn or hawkmoon if you are playstation. You can do it!

Don't complain about the Vex. Vex cannot stand a change against a Thunderlord or any heavy (they all do about the same amount of dps) unless the person wielding the heavy is just bad. Yeah, the Vex is the most powerful auto if compared to that gun class, but heavies are meant to overpower that class, even the Vex. Now, in a few months time, when you are better at PvP and can actually kill someone with a heavy, go find someone with a TLW (but only at close range), Thorn, or Hawkmoon and see if you can kill them with a heavy. No? See if you can kill someone with a Vex. You did it? Great. That's because all three hand cannons can outgun a Vex, and a heavy. See, there are more powerful weapons out there than Vex.

54 RepliesSays the kid with 1 raid completion, shitty weapons, and a below average PvP KD. The Vex Mythoclast already got -blam!-ed in the ass by bungie. Its about to get -blam!-ed again. It used to have 56 rounds and 34% more damage. Now with the weapon patch, this thing will be so innacurate you couldnt bit the blindside of a barn with it! And to top it all off, the Vex is capped at 323 damage. Permanantly. Never to be upgraded. Please. Stop whining about sucking at crucible.

How close was your opponent? Did you strafe correctly/at proper times? The Vex has serious accuracy issues past mid range engagements. After checking your stats I see your K/D spread is 1.00. This means you are the example of "An average Crucible player." Many people who play crucible are FPS/Halo veterans, and thus are used to the mechanics used. Continue to practice, hone your skills. Try different weapon loadouts. You may find a combination you thought would never work for you but is better than current play styles you use.
