I'm sorry. An open apology to Hunters.

I thought you guys were just being douchebags when you said your Supers took more skill to use. I thought you Bladedancers were just lying through your teeth when you said you could be killed easily. Same goes for you, Gunslingers. I thought you guys were just being condescending when you said the Hunter class relies more on player skill than class abilities. I thought you guys were just salty when you said you got shafted in PvE. Boy oh boy, how wrong I was. The past few days, I've started to use my Hunter. And I'm starting to see why you guys say the things you do. I took my Hunter into Crucible, to see if it really was any different. I can honestly say I was surprised. I quickly learned I couldn't play like I do on my Titan - my grenades had half the potency, and my melee wasn't as generous. I decided that I was going to have to rely on myself and my abilities more than my class and it's abilities. To be truthful, I think it's making me a smarter, and better player. After around 30 games of Control, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance so far. Go ahead, look for yourself! But then came the moment. My super was ready. I was prepared to deliver a world of butthurt unto the enemy team which they would remember for years. I activated my Arc Blade, ran around the corner, got one kill, and got shut down by a pair of shotgun wielding Titans. That's happened more than a few times, I'm not afraid to admit. Only once so far have I had 5 kills, I'm actually averaging about 1-2 a Super. You guys weren't joking. I also had the chance to do a Normal run through the Vault of Glass. There I was: a level 27 Hunter heading to cripple the Vex, armed with some borrowed weapons, a half-decent grenade, and a Super that can only kill a few enemies, and drops even less orbs. Again, you guys weren't joking. So again, I apologize. You guys aren't lying or being condescending when you say the things you do, you're just as serious as everyone else in the room. I know I have but a miniscule amount of play as a Hunter, so I'm certain I'll experience everything the more I use it. P.S. - I'm sorry for choosing Bladedancer first, I had to see for myself if what you guys were saying was true. P.P.S. - Any tips for when and how to use Arc Blade in a way that doesn't get me stomped? TL;DR: Hunters were telling the truth this whole time, and I'm sorry for doubting them.

Thanks, hunter supers definitely take the most aim. Bladedancer is not unstoppable, and takes practice to control and aim, people just suck so they say it's op. Don't even get me started on gunslinger, you can actually totally miss GG shots lol. And in PvE we can't just charge in, we don't have instant bubbles and self revive if shit gets hairy, even invisibility takes a couple of seconds (and sometimes it won't work at all and takes multiple crouches for it to activate).

        • Yes hunters supers in pve suck. They are definitely easy mode in crucible tho. Pop it (either one) run all over the map get easy 3-4 kills avg in 6v6. To get 3 with nova or fist of havoc, the other team has to group up and somehow you get then to stay there and not kill you.

            • Also. BD-->invisibility loadout-->shotgun in crucible vs inexperienced team is great fun. You can troll the hell out of the opposing team. Just go invis and run straight for their spawn. People get sooooo upset :D

            • Apology accepted. Now for the tips of a hunter who prevailed in the fires of the Iron Banner and bathed in the Darkness of the Vault. Gunslinger: You are a hunter, a killer, a swift predator, in and out in a flash never to be seen again. You are precise in everything you do. Hand Cannons are your weapon of choice, you cannot rely on grenades, you rely on precision and speed. Your throwing knife is back up in case another gets too close for comfort or on the brink of death. You jump from platform to platform, performing feats of excellence everywhere you go. Your Golden Gun is a weapon to be feared and respected, it needs to bathe in the light of other guardians and should never be wasted on only 1. They don't know where they got killed from, your precision is too much for them, you are too agile for them. You are too good for them. Bladedancer: You are swift, you are clean, you are unstoppable. Nobody ever sees you coming, your name is whispered among other guardians because they are afraid of you, never knowing where you are or when you are about to strike. You are a close quarters predator, you move with such speed they can never seem to find you, yet kill you. Your Arc Blade is to be used to clear a group of enemies and hungering blade is a must. Grenades are not your forte, your blink strike is used to disorient your victim and them finish them off with a swift final blow. Both classes require skill, patience and swift reactions. You cannot play the same way you do as a titan or warlock unless you will be massacred. Good luck guardian and wish you well.

              • When you activate your super on blade dancer, go invis before you go for kills. That way you cam get closer before revealing yourself.

              • Run Gunslinger! It's way more fun then Bladedancer plus the triple jump is fun and can get you across a map quickly! Gunslinger also has the trip mine grenade which is beastly for Control. I only run BD at the lamps on Crota and during parts if Nightfalls (to revive fallen teammates). The only thing Gunslinger is missing is Blink.

              • Hunters play very differently than Titans or Warlocks if you want to be effective. While the other two classes can get higher with their movement abilities (Blink not included), Hunters are definitely more agile. However, they don't have the abilities to do AoE attacks (Nova Bomb and Fists of Havoc), one-hit kills (shoulder charge), or many other things (self-revive, tracking grenade [not seekers], etc). Does that mean they're not as good? Not at all. We have a ranged super that can be used three to four times, a grenade that can be used as a trap, we can go invisible, and more. In my opinion, all the classes are really well balanced, because each has something cheap about it. Do I hate it when I get shoulder rushed or Fist of Panicked? Yes. Do I hate it when I get caught by a fusion grenade or have to run from a tracking void one? Yes. Do people hate it when I save myself with a throwing knife or end their short self-revived life with my super? Yes. The game is made to be fun, epic, and challenging. It does all three really well.

                • That's the best thing I've heard all day. I've tried playing on a warlock recently rather than a Hunter and it's so much more different. As for advice, I simply suggest that you try both Gunslinger and Bladedancer and see which you like better. Once you find a class you like better, simply play it and find the best setup you can that suits to your playstyle. Good luck!

                • You got one kill with your first arc blade, the same amount most fists of havoc and nova bombs usually kill, and this somehow invalidates he argument that hunter supers have vastly more killing potential?

Just because you were new to the class doesn't mean they were telling the truth at all. That's like me making a Death Knight in World of Warcraft, sucking since I'm new to the class, and agreeing that they're perfectly balanced due to my own lack of experience with the class.
