I thought you guys were just being douchebags when you said your Supers took more skill to use.
I thought you Bladedancers were just lying through your teeth when you said you could be killed easily. Same goes for you, Gunslingers.
I thought you guys were just being condescending when you said the Hunter class relies more on player skill than class abilities.
I thought you guys were just salty when you said you got shafted in PvE.
Boy oh boy, how wrong I was.
The past few days, I've started to use my Hunter. And I'm starting to see why you guys say the things you do.
I took my Hunter into Crucible, to see if it really was any different. I can honestly say I was surprised.
I quickly learned I couldn't play like I do on my Titan - my grenades had half the potency, and my melee wasn't as generous. I decided that I was going to have to rely on myself and my abilities more than my class and it's abilities.
To be truthful, I think it's making me a smarter, and better player. After around 30 games of Control, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance so far. Go ahead, look for yourself!
But then came the moment. My super was ready. I was prepared to deliver a world of butthurt unto the enemy team which they would remember for years.
I activated my Arc Blade, ran around the corner, got one kill, and got shut down by a pair of shotgun wielding Titans.
That's happened more than a few times, I'm not afraid to admit. Only once so far have I had 5 kills, I'm actually averaging about 1-2 a Super.
You guys weren't joking.
I also had the chance to do a Normal run through the Vault of Glass. There I was: a level 27 Hunter heading to cripple the Vex, armed with some borrowed weapons, a half-decent grenade, and a Super that can only kill a few enemies, and drops even less orbs.
Again, you guys weren't joking.
So again, I apologize. You guys aren't lying or being condescending when you say the things you do, you're just as serious as everyone else in the room.
I know I have but a miniscule amount of play as a Hunter, so I'm certain I'll experience everything the more I use it.
P.S. - I'm sorry for choosing Bladedancer first, I had to see for myself if what you guys were saying was true.
P.P.S. - Any tips for when and how to use Arc Blade in a way that doesn't get me stomped?
TL;DR: Hunters were telling the truth this whole time, and I'm sorry for doubting them.

Blade dance Blink Arc bolt/flux nade Get health back when stabbing Quick blink strike Full agility
-
You got my respect for the honesty. I haven't played as a Titan yet so idk flow or play style. I was never going to make a Titan but now I just might
-
Thank you. Apology accepted.
-
Before we didnt know how to counter it, but then we started learning. And over the course of a month or two, basically everyone knew how to shut down blade dancer. And also, NEVER go against two shotgunners. NEVER
-
Great joke
-
Glad you see things from our perspective.
-
Damn..... You make titans look good....

-
I've mained a hunter since vanilla snipers no shotguns in crucible I'm glad you've had a taste of what its like to be a hunter. tell me when tried all the raids as a hunter as I have. but my hunter will always be my favorite most fun I've had I always had blade dancer active per ttk try activating arc blade close to but not in line of sight to maximise kills and gunslinger lol learn to wield the knife a head shot with the right perk will return them to you so u can have a never ending supply. Finesse is the name of the hunters game
-
Bump. I've mained every class so far, but yeah, hunter supers are the most annoying to play as.
-
When you unlock nightstalker then you'll really have some fun!
-
We forgive you.
-
Nightstalker is a really fun class
-
Bump ....Much respect. ...... And the folk who disagree with the OP don't play hunters or don't know how to use shotguns ... smh
-
Respect bro!!!! #Hunter4life

Get the one that heals you with a kill with blade dancer. That helps a ton. You'll probably start averaging 2-3 rather than 1-2 kills per super.
-
-
You are forgiven
-
Their grenades are less potent? Their sticky grenade kills. Heck even faster than magnetic grenade because it doesn't need to hit twice. Arcbolt grenade is ballin too... Bladedancer melee is way better than Titans for pvp (aside from shoulder charge)... And if you use the reduced cool down one, you will get so much range, and you can get 0 strength and put the rest in intelligence and discipline for max supers and grenades...

I don't know, Arcblade is extremely easy to use and it lasts for a while. If you use Blink with it (which you should be) it makes for very, very easy kills. That said, it needs a huge buff for PvE. A 100% in damage would be good lol.

-
If you continue to use blade dancer subclass I got a few tips for you. ~If you can't make it to the enemy in 3 slashes don't slash. Blink towards them then slash. ~vanish is probably the best perk for the arc blade itself in pvp. unlike the other invisibility ways vanish keeps you completely off radar regardless of your type of movement the whole duration. It also lasts 2 seconds longer then other methods of invisibility. ~ always go blink strike+ hungering blade. Blink strike almost has the melee range of a warlock melee. With this setup you will always have a melee when you need it. and melee kills in both super and blink strike give health back.
-
What platform you on? I don't share trade secrets with Xbox 1/360 players as I will eventually encounter them lol. :) No but here's a freebie Blink into BLADEDANCER. If timed right blink can be your best friend blink through weapon swaps and into stabs it is the hunters greatest tool witout a doubt without it I may not have 3 hunters

Edited by NM Gunslinger: 5/2/2015 8:18:20 PMI would honestly recommend using Gunslinger in PvE, the super is more useful, less risky, and generates more orbs. The only downside is the limited number of kills you get.
-
Edited by Wolfishhat8131: 5/4/2015 4:07:55 PMHunter supers are all about timing. They leave you very vulnerable and do not grant the same damage resist other classes have. Additionally you have to watch your shield because you can't get an extra over shield. You have to have a very good ability to predict where the enemy will be ahead of time and work with that.

All the classes have a different play style.
