I'm sorry. An open apology to Hunters.

I thought you guys were just being douchebags when you said your Supers took more skill to use. I thought you Bladedancers were just lying through your teeth when you said you could be killed easily. Same goes for you, Gunslingers. I thought you guys were just being condescending when you said the Hunter class relies more on player skill than class abilities. I thought you guys were just salty when you said you got shafted in PvE. Boy oh boy, how wrong I was. The past few days, I've started to use my Hunter. And I'm starting to see why you guys say the things you do. I took my Hunter into Crucible, to see if it really was any different. I can honestly say I was surprised. I quickly learned I couldn't play like I do on my Titan - my grenades had half the potency, and my melee wasn't as generous. I decided that I was going to have to rely on myself and my abilities more than my class and it's abilities. To be truthful, I think it's making me a smarter, and better player. After around 30 games of Control, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance so far. Go ahead, look for yourself! But then came the moment. My super was ready. I was prepared to deliver a world of butthurt unto the enemy team which they would remember for years. I activated my Arc Blade, ran around the corner, got one kill, and got shut down by a pair of shotgun wielding Titans. That's happened more than a few times, I'm not afraid to admit. Only once so far have I had 5 kills, I'm actually averaging about 1-2 a Super. You guys weren't joking. I also had the chance to do a Normal run through the Vault of Glass. There I was: a level 27 Hunter heading to cripple the Vex, armed with some borrowed weapons, a half-decent grenade, and a Super that can only kill a few enemies, and drops even less orbs. Again, you guys weren't joking. So again, I apologize. You guys aren't lying or being condescending when you say the things you do, you're just as serious as everyone else in the room. I know I have but a miniscule amount of play as a Hunter, so I'm certain I'll experience everything the more I use it. P.S. - I'm sorry for choosing Bladedancer first, I had to see for myself if what you guys were saying was true. P.P.S. - Any tips for when and how to use Arc Blade in a way that doesn't get me stomped? TL;DR: Hunters were telling the truth this whole time, and I'm sorry for doubting them.

        • You can't run and gun with a hunter like you can with a Titan. Titans are bulky and meant to take a lot of damage. Hunters are agile and supposed to kill before even being seen.

        • Grenades half potency. Melee not as generous. Wtf are you using on the respective classes?

          • Pre blade dancer nerf. Blink/blade dance could easily wipe a team out. Now, I only run gunslinger. And blade dancer in pve. I used my super on a captain major. He punched me to death by the time I got him to half health... With my "super" golden gun barely even takes the shield off. (Except for the monster that is celestial nighthawk)

            • Well arc blade was nerfed a bit and in the beginning high impact shotguns weren't as common so it WAS op but not any more.

            • Wow thank you :). As for tips, I play as the gunslinger. Use the chain of woe, that with gloves for speed reload really help. For Holden gun, use the dead eye perk in pvp as the combustion rarely helps unless you happen on a group all together. Get you self a good ha d cannon, the ace of spades is really that good. Finally use the exotic gloves for trip mines. They really come in handy when playing control. Plan when to use the golden gun, it's not a panic super. If you use it when your health is low or are surrounded you will be dead before you finish your he-man pose.

            • I appreciate the sentiment. I main a hunter at the moment, but I used to main warlock, and Titan before that. (I had a warlock with ~15 days of play time, but I deleted it on the spur of the moment.) In any case, I appreciate your apology. I can only hope those who haven't tried to play as a hunter will do so now and will understand how hard it is for us. We don't complain about how weak we are, we complain about how broken other classes are. I like the challenge of timing and the actual skill involved with using the supers. It takes practice to get used to the nuances like timing and aim.

            • Finally another class sees the struggle of not being carried by the class abilities. Takes aim and time to get use to. Jumps are super easy though because its what you'll expect when it comes to extra jumps.

            • You da man. Not cuz you played hunter but because you did something different. You didn't just whine about how op it is but tried it out. That's something people tend not to do on this forum. That being said, I never felt them to be op as I mained a lock from day 1 and never had issues shutting down hunters. It only takes a panic nova or nice shot gun combo to take em down in their super, especially because they have to traverse the map to get to you. I felt more op on my void walker or my striker. Hunters have some drawbacks but they are still strong in other ways. They're mobile and blink gets you out of fatal situations very well. To someone who's inexperienced you can do the basic blink in shot gun or you can just mix things up as you see fit. If you blink towards a rocket, you can dodge it. If you pause and wait to descend, then blink then you can make your fall faster. They also buffed invisibility. I've noticed it's less noticeable now and most don't pay attention to the radar. You can be that guy and go invisible and shot gun people if you really want to. Mask if the third man is a must for blade dancers. Symbiote for gun slinger. Always check your radar and pop your super in areas that you can cross quickly, not next to a room where you have to cross a mile. I would have more things to say but I'm at work so I'm mostly brain dead lol

Blinking while blade dancing to close the gap helps a lot. Also if there's a gap to close and no jumping room just throw your arc out at them. Forgot the perk for some reason. Lol

              • Even though it's a douche move, use blink to your advantage. If you pop the super and you need to close a gap, blink and RB can help I get you close plus it's tough to hit a blinking BD. Are you using razors edge? If not id suggest getting better with it. Both in PvP and PvE, razors edge is sometimes that little range you need for the kill.

1st main: Hunter 2nd main: Warlock thought it was easy in crucible so I ended up using 500+ hours on him. Switched back to my hunter during HoW, haven't gone back.

                • Just wait until you play as a gun slinger, get rushed with shotguns just to shut them down with a throwing knife to the face. Most satisfying thing every.
