I'm sorry. An open apology to Hunters.

I thought you guys were just being douchebags when you said your Supers took more skill to use. I thought you Bladedancers were just lying through your teeth when you said you could be killed easily. Same goes for you, Gunslingers. I thought you guys were just being condescending when you said the Hunter class relies more on player skill than class abilities. I thought you guys were just salty when you said you got shafted in PvE. Boy oh boy, how wrong I was. The past few days, I've started to use my Hunter. And I'm starting to see why you guys say the things you do. I took my Hunter into Crucible, to see if it really was any different. I can honestly say I was surprised. I quickly learned I couldn't play like I do on my Titan - my grenades had half the potency, and my melee wasn't as generous. I decided that I was going to have to rely on myself and my abilities more than my class and it's abilities. To be truthful, I think it's making me a smarter, and better player. After around 30 games of Control, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance so far. Go ahead, look for yourself! But then came the moment. My super was ready. I was prepared to deliver a world of butthurt unto the enemy team which they would remember for years. I activated my Arc Blade, ran around the corner, got one kill, and got shut down by a pair of shotgun wielding Titans. That's happened more than a few times, I'm not afraid to admit. Only once so far have I had 5 kills, I'm actually averaging about 1-2 a Super. You guys weren't joking. I also had the chance to do a Normal run through the Vault of Glass. There I was: a level 27 Hunter heading to cripple the Vex, armed with some borrowed weapons, a half-decent grenade, and a Super that can only kill a few enemies, and drops even less orbs. Again, you guys weren't joking. So again, I apologize. You guys aren't lying or being condescending when you say the things you do, you're just as serious as everyone else in the room. I know I have but a miniscule amount of play as a Hunter, so I'm certain I'll experience everything the more I use it. P.S. - I'm sorry for choosing Bladedancer first, I had to see for myself if what you guys were saying was true. P.P.S. - Any tips for when and how to use Arc Blade in a way that doesn't get me stomped? TL;DR: Hunters were telling the truth this whole time, and I'm sorry for doubting them.

    hell yeah! - old

They are all good if you know how to use them...they all take skill to use well!! Any fool can smash buttons but to set the fool up to come to you when you press the button takes skill and timing.

  • I had the opposite experience with my hunter. I just screwed around and played okay still. Bladedancer equals a free triple if you're not awful.

  • Hunters have the easiest Iwin specials in pvp, it only seems bad because you're new to it

  • I started out as a Titan, then a couple months ago started a Hunter character. I can definitely say that the Hunter takes more skill to play with. Both the Titans supers are sort of panic buttons, but neither Hunter super is made that way. Also seems like it takes a bit longer for Golden Gun to power up, leaving you vulnerable. That being said, I still enjoy playing as both.

  • congrats! Personally, I have never complained about being a Hunter. I knew what I was getting into, My choice (s) Tips? do not be afraid of tweaking your skill trees to suit the environment, situation. Adjust to personal play style, enemy,as well as complimenting your other team mates if applicable (raids, PvP) supra

  • Getting killed in Golden Gun or Bladedancer sucks. 1v1 of course you will win, most the time. But if you are running in a room with more 2 or more enemies, you can easily be killed.

  • Hungering blade is a great perk for Arc Blade although it's still not going to save you against multiple shotties.

  • People have gotten better at shutting down Arc Bladers. They were a massive problem during the first month or so, but not so much any more. Golden Gun is the best super in PvP. Why were you even using Bladerdancer in VoG?

Yea I get you, I started off with a hunter. Got most of the pvp grimoire for it, so started using warlock and Titan on there more. Now that I go back it's like shit the other two are much easier to use.

    • Hunter takes a lot of skill to effectively play. Feels a lot squishier too right? When you level gun slinger you'll find that trip mine grenade is super lethal,( to you as well) you'll blow yourself up constantly , but it's super powerful compared to the other grenades. For pve using razors edge will keep you far enough away from mobs so you don't take much damage. And try blink, even in pve you'll notice it's a great option when under fire to avoid damage. Have fun .

      • The most fun time to use your super is when theirs a team waiting at heavy ammo. Use your Arc Blade before you go around the corner. Then use your Razors edge and pick off the ones that survived. :)

      • I'm glad somebody took the initiative to experience the other side. As far as using arc blade, you'll need to be tactical about it. As far as set up, you'll definitely want hungering blade for the health regen on kill, and either razor's edge or vanish. Some people make good use of vanish, I am not one of them. I prefer razor because it allows you to deal lethal damage without putting yourself in range of shotguns. It's also all about movement, this comes with practice. As far as when to super, I prefer using it in skirmish, however there are only a few useful scenarios. A) you have just team wiped the enemy, predict their spawn and run that way, pop super, and get a few extra kills. B) heavy inbound, have your teammates lock down one and if you time it right you can deny the enemy their heavy. Now with all that said, if you can use Gunslinger, use it. It is a vastly superior strategic super. However you get no damage resistance like you do as a dancer, so be careful. The 2 biggest reasons for running blade dancer are not the super, it's Arcbolt grenade (excellent for leading or ending an encounter, lead to lower health and mop with your gun, or weaken a few enemies then wipe with grenade) and blink, because blink is the best movement ability in the game. Get yourself a found verdict and learn its 2 shot range and 1 shot range. Get yourself a high impact sniper with final round and a low impact with unflinching, both should have ambush scopes, learn to play to the enemies weaknesses. Good luck, guardian!
