I'm sorry. An open apology to Hunters.

I thought you guys were just being douchebags when you said your Supers took more skill to use. I thought you Bladedancers were just lying through your teeth when you said you could be killed easily. Same goes for you, Gunslingers. I thought you guys were just being condescending when you said the Hunter class relies more on player skill than class abilities. I thought you guys were just salty when you said you got shafted in PvE. Boy oh boy, how wrong I was. The past few days, I've started to use my Hunter. And I'm starting to see why you guys say the things you do. I took my Hunter into Crucible, to see if it really was any different. I can honestly say I was surprised. I quickly learned I couldn't play like I do on my Titan - my grenades had half the potency, and my melee wasn't as generous. I decided that I was going to have to rely on myself and my abilities more than my class and it's abilities. To be truthful, I think it's making me a smarter, and better player. After around 30 games of Control, I'm pretty satisfied with my performance so far. Go ahead, look for yourself! But then came the moment. My super was ready. I was prepared to deliver a world of butthurt unto the enemy team which they would remember for years. I activated my Arc Blade, ran around the corner, got one kill, and got shut down by a pair of shotgun wielding Titans. That's happened more than a few times, I'm not afraid to admit. Only once so far have I had 5 kills, I'm actually averaging about 1-2 a Super. You guys weren't joking. I also had the chance to do a Normal run through the Vault of Glass. There I was: a level 27 Hunter heading to cripple the Vex, armed with some borrowed weapons, a half-decent grenade, and a Super that can only kill a few enemies, and drops even less orbs. Again, you guys weren't joking. So again, I apologize. You guys aren't lying or being condescending when you say the things you do, you're just as serious as everyone else in the room. I know I have but a miniscule amount of play as a Hunter, so I'm certain I'll experience everything the more I use it. P.S. - I'm sorry for choosing Bladedancer first, I had to see for myself if what you guys were saying was true. P.P.S. - Any tips for when and how to use Arc Blade in a way that doesn't get me stomped? TL;DR: Hunters were telling the truth this whole time, and I'm sorry for doubting them.

      • Good to hear that you realise, a hunter has to work as hard for their super kills as all the other classes!! Welcome to the club! If you keep on using your hunter, you will see all the real benefits, invisibility, triple jump, smoke bombs, general agility... Oh and wearing a cool cloak instead of a towel :/)

        • You have my respect for your honesty. A few tips for bladedancers. 1. Never activate super while stationary. Always in mid air 2. If using blink (recommended) and bladedancing and charging at someone... do these things - Blink, activate super, swing, swing, blink in the enemy's direction again while in mid air. This has saved me more than a few times. You will not only teleport closer/past them, but will disorient enemy's sense of direction as well. 3. Use skip grenades and learn how to use them. Arcbolt's suck now. 4. Use backstab - Has a glitch that sometimes OHKO's enemies in front. 5. Use Quickdraw - Got nerfed, but still amazing for sniping and switching weapons. 6. Use hungering blade - This is a must. If you don't have health regen as a melee super, you will die very easily. Let me know if any questions.

        • Bladedancer can be a troll in Crucible once you unlock Razor's Edge, but I prefer using Gunsingler for PvP: It has a grenade that causes ticking damage even on a near miss, lethal super that can be used precisely from a long distance, and it has the only melee that can be thrown and cause precision damage, not to mention it can also cause ticking damage. Nightstalker for PvE: It has the most crowd control potential out of all 3 classes (Vortex grenade + a smoke bomb in place of your melee that stuns and deals ticking damage with Envenom) and makes way more orbs than any other class hands down (Light of the Pack), and if you use your super on a boss instead of ads, it has almost the same effect as Weapons of Light since it turns all damage into critical damage for the duration of the anchor [Pro tip: Use Black Hole], all without having to step in and out of a bubble.

          • hold on. yes, hunters do die quicker because they don't have the super over shield. but I'm not sure how smart it would be to give a golden gun an over shield. no. Hunters do not "die too easily". they are not the victims. they have the most generous supers, the most unpredictable exotics, and the best class specific weapons. No, I do not sympathize when a blade dancer kills four people and then finally gets shotgunned to death. no I do not sympathize when a golden gun trades with a sniper, because golden gun shots are easy and headshots on a moving target is far more challenging. it's an even trade. I, a lover of hunters and everything they have to offer, do not whine when I miss a golden gun shot or arrow. I don't whine because it has nothing to do with the super. it's just you. if you play smart, you won't die easily during your super. end of story. hunters just go for the obvious kills when invisibility during arc blade is such a beautiful thing. in other words: hunters do not need to be buffed you noob. they are fine just how they are. get gud.

            • Posted on Feb 27th?? Sunbreaker vs bladedancer yes, I could clearly see where this guy was coming from... but then I realized this guy was comparing striker to bladedancer.. wut o_o I loved playing bladedancer back when arcbolt was champ, when backstab was champ, when blink was champ, when quickdraw was champ, when hungering blade was champ. This post is ass backwards, during year 1 I rocked a 1.5 k/d on my hunter and a .8 k/d on my titan. I guess everyone has a different experience lol. It seems more like this guy tried playing a hunter like you would a titan and failed.

            • You need to time your Arc Blade at the rite place at the rite time. Cayde-6 taught me that a looong time ago. He's a great friend, a great mentor

            • The hunter class is made for mobility so make sure you stay mobile. Activate all supers in air, keep your feet off the ground as much as possible when you use them. It'll help prevent getting sniped. If you blade dance, just go for a cheap build; arc-bolt, blink, razors edge, backstab, quickdraw, hungering blade. Best way to not get shotgunned is to throw a razors edge on anyone who's ready for you instead of swiping at them. Best of luck :)

            • Hunters are not at all hard to use . If you know how to combine the perks within the diffrent subclasess and use a solid loadout you should be having no trouble.
