how do some people only play PVE?

I see that a lotta people only play PVE. I just don't understand how you can willingly ignore such a huge part of the game. I'm curious as to why. Edit: I'm really not hating. I'm just looking for different points of view. To each his own. Game on! Edit: Come on guys lets not start a civil war here. Weather it's PVP or PVE we are all playing the same game here. Btw: holy crap approaching 500 responses. Haha

  • Because I prefer the co op experience vs going at someone else's throat an killing them.

  • I used to play PvP everyday. That was all I used to do. Discovered the roc strikes in December. All I played were those I've kind of gone back to PvP b/c of hawkmoon. #WRECKERS

  • The strategy in co op is what makes it fun pvp is just run and gun.

Because PvE is where Destiny shines. If I wanted to play competitive multiplayer, I'd play BF at 60 fps with a better variety of game types. Conquest > Crucible

  • I suppose it's the same way some people only or primarily play Crucible. It just comes down to personal preference. I really like the PVE side of the game, and PVP for me is alright. I like playing competitive multiplayer on other games, just not so much in Destiny for some odd reason.

  • It's a game of have and have not. Meaning gear has a lot to do with that aspect of the game. I kind of get tired from coming around a corner or something and hear the familiar sound of a vex, icebreaker or some other high powered weapon drop me. So I choose not to play it unless I need something specific or the RNG starts to help me out too

  • Because there's better shooters to play. If I want competitive I'll play titanfall or an older cod like mw2. No pvp for me. However no other game comes close in the co-op pve department. Nothing beats raiding with friends. Honestly if you don't raid weekly I don't understand how you can still play this game.

    • Just never really been a fan of PVP shooters. Probably because I am so bad at them : (

    • PvE is where the addiction lays. I can't seem to leave it long enough unless i'm doing a weapon bounty like i am currently.

    • It is as simple as not enjoying that aspect of the game.

    • I prefer PvE and have fun with friends doing bounties, raiding, farming and exploring. Have no interest or desire ultimately to play PvP. Only have 20 crucible marks to date since initial release. I would play PvP if you could clan PvP only.

    • I'm not a fan of the radar. That might be my main complaint. I like to sneak around and flank the opposing team

      • I got nothing against crucible and I can usually hang around a 1.5 lately but I just don't like it.

      • I prefer PvP. I only Raid to get goodies for PvP. Honestly fighting bots just becomes to formulaic. Knocking out Dorks and fighting majors doesn't get easy, but I don't get the rush from defeating other people, y'know? And from what I noticed, the people that get on Crucible are more chill than PvEr's. We don't have anything major to prove, we've got our stats to speak for us, unlike the Raiders that I've met (only speaking from my experience) who've always got a say something unnecessary or superfluous, and just annoy me.

      • No fun playing by yourself pve or pvp and my friends and I have always prioritized the raids. Just recently we started getting into pvp and enjoying it.

      • Oh yes, those whole 3-5 game modes with ~5 maps are such a huge part of the game. Raids can't even compare to the glory of the Crucible.
Do I even need to add a #satire?
• For me, pvp is a means to an end. I only play it for the Crucible marks...that is all.

          • I played control for a really long time and enjoyed it, but was never rewarded with either a legendary or exotic. I don't need the currency anymore for vendor weapons or gear, as I have stronger raid weapons. Crux just started to get stale for me and that's why I haven't played in about a month. Now the same thing is happening with the PvP side of the game I've gone from playing 2-3hrs a day to maybe 1hr per day. Last night I was just going through the motions, I wasn't enjoying it, I wasn't responding my game invitation or party invites, I might have to take a break until HoW comes out. Love the game though.

          • The crucible is, with total honest, the WORST multiplayer I have ever experienced in my entire life. COD ghost was utter guano, but the crucible, with it's unimaginative maps, terrible hit detection, half ass amount of game modes, lack of dedicated servers (in these days, that's unacceptable), diarrhea injected spawns that make no sense whatsoever, an abhorrent reward system, guns that are too powerful, guns that are too weak, guns that get needlessly nerfed and buffed due to a crybaby community, *gasp* hulk smashes, bullsh*t bombs, ebola knifes, golden shower launchers, flaming Rasputins, boxing wrings, Leroy Jenkins shoulder charges, teleporting fairies , bitch shields, Lord Shaxx and his dull yet annoying voice... is bad.
