I see that a lotta people only play PVE. I just don't understand how you can willingly ignore such a huge part of the game. I'm curious as to why.
Edit: I'm really not hating. I'm just looking for different points of view. To each his own.
Game on!
Edit: Come on guys lets not start a civil war here. Weather it's PVP or PVE we are all playing the same game here.
Btw: holy crap approaching 500 responses. Haha

Pvp is boring to me. I only play to get marks and bounties done. I like raiding with my buddies. Always a good time and still challenging. Seems like when I play pvp, it doesn't matter how I play or what weapons I use, people always get mad. I'm not into that.
-
I play it every now and then. I can't stand the reward system though. There's no benefit to play. It takes so many games to get enough marks to buy from vendors. No point in wasting time.

1. Some people have personalities such that they perfer cooperation---and cooperative play----to competition. 2. Competitive FPS have a very steep learning curve, and are very unforgiving of mistakes or inexpereince. So players have to be willing to endure a LOT of failure before htey start to see any success. 3. In comp-FPS those failures often feel very personal. So many players don't have egos that can withstand the battering necessary to "git gud". 4. You run into a lot of (to put it bluntly) @ssholes in comp-FPS. Who deal with their own feelings of inadequacy by trying to inflict those feelings on others. Flaming. T-bagging. Hate posts. "If you're K/D isn't 2.0 I'm not going to listen to anything you have to say, cause you suck!!" ...and other such nonsense. IOW. You have a lot of competitive energy and fragile egos...in and environment where alot of the players have no experience with sports. So they never learned how to be competitive without being d!cks about it. So many people---myself included---just don't want to have to put up witht he childishness. I like PvP when it is done well. I LOVE Destiny's PvE...and I don't have to put up with all the other crap taht goes along with comp-FPSs.

Used to play pvp quite a bit but I just don't find it enjoyable. When I do decide to play destiny these days it'll be to do the raids and nightfalls don't have time to fap.
-
I PVE due to the less stress then PVP. Last time i attempted PVP i ended up in the hospital due to my lovely heart condition. SO yea pve for me and i enjoy it as well. it lets me have fun without people yelling at me for dieing (raids excluded due to me rarly doing them)

Pvp = lag switching turds that cheat to feel better about there life

Edited by Timmey04: 2/7/2015 6:21:59 PMHonestly, I think I'm better than the average pvp player, but I just don't like it. It makes no sense to play pvp, to be good in Destiny. Raid is all you need, from the moment you got the weapons you wanted. Nightfall, weekly and raid is all I do
-
PvP isn't very rewarding for the time put into it
-
1 ReplyPVP has too much influence on destiny. Changes that affect all PVE players are made just from crucible feedback, its not right.
-
Because PVP environments are toxic.
-
4 RepliesLol to people who makes excuses to why they don't play, we all know why your not good at it don't kid yourself. I I I I V V. V. V
-
I do crucible when required (bounties etc...) but play PvE for the most part because most of the players on my friends list play PvE. Having said that we've taken a few teams into Crucible and had a blast, got waxed, but had fun. I don't worry about being the weak link or how often I die (I'm usually mid to low end of the team) but if I'm in a match as a random I can respect that people get frustrated. We all want to win. So I generally avoid it and keep to PvE. To OP's point, I don't feel I'm missing anything by not playing PvP because it's there if I want it.

2 RepliesI casually played Halo, but am a diehard CoD fan. I've owned every installment since WaW. CoD owns competitive PvP. (let the Bungie trolls begin flaming...) I purchased Destiny for two reasons. The dynamic PvE experience AND the fact that Ghosts and Advanced Warfare were two of the worst games I've ever played. And, trust me, I was great at both in PvP. I tried Crucible. I rank it right there with Advanced Warfare. No imagination, laggy, rewards camping (even when the game mode doesn't warrant it)...it's broken on so many levels that's it's really not playable by anyone other than the tryhards and those poor saps who have to grind it out for marks. Sorry. PvE is where Destiny shines. PvP...not so much.
-
I personally just don't like crucible. Feels like halo. And I've always hated halo lol

Edited by DoctorZeuss77: 2/7/2015 6:23:33 PMI've been playing mostly PvE since the game came out, I've had my moments in the crucible though. Being a pc MMO player for most of my gaming years, I usually focus on the grind. Though after feeling a bit burnt out this week, I played crucible for the first time in a couple weeks just for fun instead of trying to complete a bounty or tag along with friends because they wanted to do it. It was a great refresher. The game is all about fun. Find it wherever you can. Don't feel obligated to do anything and you won't get burned out. Now where is my damn heavy ammo synth from Xur, I literally have to raid 6 times this week.

PVP is not a huge part of the game.

Edited by Achro: 2/7/2015 6:20:15 PMI plan to, I just haven't yet. It's not going anywhere. I'm old and grew up with single-player games, and to this day still prefer them. Before Halo: Reach the only real mp games I'd played were the early CoD's and Unreal Tournament - all on PC. Now don't get me wrong, I like multiplayer PvP, I just don't have a burning desire to play.
-
It's hilarious because that argument works so much better against people who only play PVP
-
I only play PVP when a bounty requires me to. I don't enjoy it cause I seem to lag pretty bad due to my shit Internet speeds and it's not enjoyable
-
I prefer realistic games in PvP. (No shields and superpowers etc..)
-
I'm ok at crucible. And have fun playing it. But the grind and payout is ridiculous. 3 marks per win really? ( I only play rumble don't know if the others give more)if it had a little more payout or rewards I would play it more
-
Because it's fun. Gotta get that crucible gear
-
2 RepliesEdited by Tragedy: 2/7/2015 5:57:42 PMPeople think Bungie and think halo and how great it's multiplayer was, gone are the days of winning a 1 on 1 because he/she had better stick skills and could get head shots, Bungie disappointed me with the. Pvp in destiny! There are so many noobs with shotguns and fusion rifles not willing to use skill to kill because they have none. Bungie tore away from what made them so infamous to cater to the C.o.d players where unfortunately it takes no skill to play. That my friend is why, pvp is ignored by players like me.
-
1 ReplyI find crucible boring. Shotgun, shotgun, fusion rifle, super, super, super.....
-
I play PvE because I literally suck at PvP and do not want to bring the team down. Besides, each to their own.
-
Because pvp is plain shit .. theres no skill in it at all. No competitiveness nd also you only get 4 marks after every match so it takes longer to get marks ... im a competitive gamer, but pvp for this game isnt even worth it.
