Do You Ever Feel Like Your Account is Unable to Get Certain Guns?
I kinda feel like your account is seeded to miss out on certain weapons.
Take me for example. I have every single piece of hard mode raid gear, ship, sparrow, all primaries, 6 Hunger of Crotas, but even though I've diligently raided every week ... no Black Hammer.
Same with Vault of Glass. I got all the weapons, the Vex, loads of armour but no matter how hard I try ... no Fatebringer.
Meanwhile I know people who have Black Hammers rain down on them but can't get a Hunger to drop.
Now what's the chances of getting 6 Hunger of Crotas and no Black Hammer? I would bet astronomically low - UNLESS your account has a hugely reduced rate of that weapon dropping.
And it's not just me. You don't have to look far to find people who all have that elusive gun. The forums are rife with similar tales of woe.
Why?
My cynical side says it's to keep people hooked. To keep them returning every week for the chance. A cheap way of prolonging the experience of Destiny long after you've consumed all of the content. If you deny people the thing they want, they'll try and try to get it.
Or, it could be so that no one person is a one man army? Could it be a technique to make sure people aren't Swiss Army Knives with every tool for every job? So you have to rely on, and team up with, other people that have the tools you don't.
And, is it the REAL reason there's no trading system? Let's be honest, the whole "we want your weapon to tell a story" is kinda flimsy since the way you receive most weapons is by just doing a regular activity you and everyone else has done a million times and getting lucky.
Either way it's VERY frustrating.

dude your 100% right ive thought that too i keep getting the same exotics over and over and its a real piss off... just bc its so bullshit i might stop playing all together.. bungie changes shit every day and its just to try to prolong playing and $.. if u want us to play more add more content maybe make it so we all dont look alike i hate how i look just like my buddy like wheres the fun in that heres an idea have a whole new line up thats (5) of exotic bounties for lets say the red death, ghorn, the new 347exotic scout rifle........we wana play but its getting to be a bit much and jesus christ can u let xur sell a good exotic weapon for once no land byond and universal remote suck and should be taken off his sell list replace with the suros and mida CHEERS from one pissed off destiny player

1 ReplyI think they randomly pick 2 or 3 guns that will not drop for a long time to get you to always have a gun to chase. For me it is black hammer and hawkmoon and hard light. I've gotten 8 ice breakers and 6 last words among others

I have every exotic except universal remote. I've played over 900 hours and still have not gotten it. I absolutely believe that accounts are blocked from getting certain weapons.

That's exactly what I thought before I got ghorn. Even thought of making a new account, but now it does seem random. This coming from a guy that got 5 Mida, all rng. Every other exotic I got either I already had or didn't want. Frustrating indeed.

Or it could be impatience lol I thought i was never getting new drops cause i only had eyes on a couple items But then i looked at it and i was in fact gettin new exotics, i just didnt like them and saw as trash loot

Not mine, but my friend has gotten about 18 exotic bounties. And He's gotten the same 3 choices every time. Thorn, JUJU and Invective. No other options for him yet.

Im missing everything. Everything i have is bought. I have the shittest luck in this game and its been killing me day in and day out. Getting sick of how broken RNG is.

My friend who already had it just got it from a deathsinger. My other friend just got it from a ROC strike. A random just got it from control. (Who was below me on the leaderboards) While I have six no land beyonds, six plan cs, six icebreakers and 5 dragons breaths. I cri errytiem

Its always been my assumption that each character account has a "seed" number attached to it that is used in loot rolls. That would explain my buddy who has 4 ghorns, but no thunderlord, and my 4 tlords but no ghorn.

2 Hunger of Crota, 4 sets of arms, 3 Hard Lights two in one day. No Suros, no raid legs or helmet, no other raid weapon and a crap load of shards. I'm kinda getting your point.

Think of it like this. You engram farm for 5 hours. If the game -blam!-ing loves you, you have 10-12 legendary engram. Each engram has a 1/7 chance to be for what you want, then 1/1500 to be an exotic. Let's say you want Gjhallehorn. That's about a 1/12000 chance you can get it from an engram. I hope this explains RNG a little more to you. :)

I feel the same way. I have done nightfalls on all 3 characters (grinded like crazy to have all 3 classes lvl 32)...I do both raids on normal and hard in all characters...etc etc...and I can't get Gally, Thubderlord, or Black hammer. In Crota raid alone I've dropped 6 sword breakers??? No black hammer??? The amount of exotics I drop over and over is disheartening also. I wish Bungies drop system some how to into account what we already have so we don't keep getting same loot. At this point it's not about complaining because I really love the game and playing with most people in the destiny community. It's just sad how unfair the drop system is. ALOT OF PEOPLE have quit Destiny over it

1 ReplyI have a sneaking suspicion Bungie/Activision has profiled all of us as gamers, and gets close to the money on quit points. Think about the amount of data they have gleaned from so many FPS shooters, and based on age, location, console type, play style, preferred game type (PvE/PvP) of the 10's of millions of users that have played over the years, everything from Halo to CoD etc They know that on average, a gamer will quit after x hours, or scale back the time investment, based on all of this historic data. Ever wondered why when you get to breaking point, that damned elusive exotic pops up as a reward from a chest or nightfall/roc whatever? This happened to me last night, after 920 hours invested, Beta + day 1, running the nightfall on my 3rd, thinking I might just back away after next week for a while, as I had been chasing Gjall and FB (still want BH), when I score both on the same night (Gjall from the nightfall, FB from hard mode templar CP). Hey presto, renewed interest in the game. I won't mind farming for glimmer and relic iron now until they're both levelled up.. It's also renewed interest in my friends to keep grinding for Gjallarhorn as well. I'm feeling like I've been played...

To be honest I feel like that your account((meaning all 3 characters) is given a certain probability roll for what you will get. I have run Vault several times while playing with my brother and not once has he gotten Vex Mytho. Yet I while raiding with him in those same raid I have gotten Vex Mytho 3/10. 30% chance is pretty big if you think about. ANother example is that my bro has gotten 2 black hammers and 2 hungers. While I have gotten 2 hungers I can't get the any Black Hammers to drop nor any of the raid helms.(with the exception of Herald of Deathsingers)
