Anyone got tips for a beginner guitarist?
I just started to play guitar a few days ago, and I was wondering if the flood had any useful tips. Right now I am having trouble switching between chords and finger picking arpegioss.
P.S. Do you knoiw any really easy songs that can be played with the five basic chords?

Take lessons. That's the best way to learn guitar, then practice practice practice what you learned. Did I mention practice?

You're gonna suck for about six months, probably more. Just don't under any circumstances quit. You're fingers are gonna bleed, you're gonna be really bored, you're gonna think you're getting nowhere; just don't quit. I taught myself. I was miserable for months, but I got better. The first song I learned was "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream. It's a simple riff with a -blam!-in' solo. Try that.

I'll give you a tip: Don't play guitar. All these people starting guitar,playing for a month,then quitting. All those poor unused Guitars. =(

YA it takes a lot of patience and u should practice a lot with ur picking hand.... its not only about the playing hand..... practice with both
