If you've dropped 1000+ hours into Destiny you're doing it wrong. I have never played a game for 1000 hours and likely never will. I can count the number of games I've played for over 100 hours on one hand. Destiny is one of those games because its amazing.
Anyone who has played for more than 1000 hours and complains about the game should realize the they've ruined the game for themselves by overplaying it. To expect a game to be engaging after that long is simply unrealistic. I can't think of a single game that would pass that test.
EDIT:
I don't think people appreciate how long 1000 hours really is. Maybe it felt like it to you but you did not play Mega Man for 1000+ hours. And you did not play Myst for 1000+ hours. And you did not play Legend of Zelda for 1000+ hours. Unless you played 4000 15 minute Halo 3 games, you didn't play Halo 3 for 1000+ hours either. If you played Mass Effect or KoToR for 1000+ hours that means you did everything possible in the game - probably 10 times.
I get that e-sports games (FPSs and RTSs) can eventually get pretty high numbers if you play regularly. If I keep dipping into Destiny PvP for the next 10 years maybe I'll build up 1000 hours eventually but to do that in just over four months is nuts. Plus, MMOs can involve comically high hours but that's because they're basically glorified chat rooms with some clicking now and again. But other than that 1000 hours is too many hours.

3 RepliesEdited by Demon Sorcerer Miyagi: 2/17/2015 8:14:20 AMHalo 3, dropped way more than a thousand into that game. In response to your edit, over the course of several years I had more than 2000 ranked games and 6000 custom games. 1000 hours isn't a lot if you're having fun and playing consistently.

I played halo at least 1000 hours, had multiple accounts with games over 1,000. In fact this one here I've only played since the end of 13 I have 1300 or more games lmao. Diablo 3 I easily have that in auction house tycoon 3, thanks for the $800ish I made real monies! I've replayed FFVII at least 5 times since it release with anywhere 200-300 each run. FFVIII I've replayed only a few times but I bet I'm nearing nearly 1,000 on that. Runescape for sure, I'm talking early runescape! Neopets I played for years, back near the beginning of that. Cartoon orbit codes, I started a little late. I had all of the DBZ ones mutilplayer of them all. I had the Black Belt Badge with Hong Kong Fooey. Yeah thats right, be made jelly. There was not very many of those in circulation. I was at one point hording all the DBZ I could get my hands on. Still remember my account 15 years later: King Freiza Oolong935. Combined Pokemon games i differently have that, had red and blue and had all of them. Then yellow. Idk if there's anything else I have that amount of time in, but I've played a lot over my 29 years!

1 ReplyEdited by Lordsa Jar-Jar: 2/17/2015 7:27:17 AM1000 hours = 40days. 12hours a day so 2months of play time doing it at 12hours at or 4-5hours a day(Not that much) for 5months (How long the games been out) is reasonable ArmA is a game that deserves 1000+ hrs of gameplay.
