Why are players quitting Destiny?
What do you guys think of this!? I've been noticing a HUGE decline in my friends who play Destiny still! Most of my REAL LIFE friends all stopped playing except me and others whom I met online have quit as well! Two of my old clans have vanished! My friends list slashed in half!
EDIT: out of my old clan and 182 friends on PSN, all of which used to play destiny, there are 72 online and 2 of them are playing Destiny! So if this trend continues its going to be slim pickens! I feel like its getting worse by the day! **[b]PLEASE BUMP THIS UP[/b] so Bungie will see this!***

Because other games have better potential now, destiny is dying i have to admit. I am a day one player and only have the motivation to play nightfalls, weeklies, and come fridays for xur

Because I have everything I wanted already so finishing raids is no longer a priority , I jump on from time to time to play VOG with my friends though

The RNG system is laughable and pathetic, the story is filled with holes and signs of lazy, the hole grinding is repetitive and extremely dry and the lack in dlc is a joke. Yet in my opinion the dark below has a better story than the actual game.

People are getting bored of grinding the same content over and over. Simple. There have been no new events to get people to come back for new content. Just a bunch of iron banner, of which you have to grind for glimmer to buy the rewards you want.

5 RepliesPeople get bored of games and move on, Destiny is no exception. Just two weeks ago over 3 million people logged on for Crota's hard raid, I don't think we are hurting for players.

The time that separated launch and TDB was relatively small, so the drop off in active players wasn't really noticeable. Now we have to wait another month before HoW. This is bound to happen. Destiny is not a monthly fee or micro transaction game. It makes money from initial game sales and inexpensive DLC followups. That's just marketing and hype, which they will spin and promote. I'm not overly sure why people think Bungie is in danger when they've already doubled their initial game cost. My friends list was active from September to February. There's only about 6 people that login and play now. But, if I look into those missing player profiles, 3 characters all 32's, maxed everything, most exotics. Of course those players are going to drift and play something else... Odds are they'll be back for the new raid and grind. That's not a bad thing. That's how this game works. One last thing... I just started a 3rd character. I have zero issues finding low level players for strikes etc. They are clearly new players (ran phogoth last night with a couple and they had no idea what was happening.) Match making for lower level events is fast and easy. I've had three friends start the game last week as well and they made multiple new friends with people who just started. This is my experience so its not universal. But, I think those who are absent are most likely those who have nothing left to do.... And that's not a bad thing... We need to stop looking at it that way.

After you have 3 32s, it is a bit tougher to keep it interesting. I still have fun, but have found myself starting to get bored. Another game may take over soon....

Ok so apparently you haven't been playing this game since it came out the game has no content i mean I still who play it so I go back sometimes but I got so bored there is a repetitive cycle of doing things do nightfall, CE, VoG ,weekly heroic it just gets boring until something new comes so that's why a lot of you friends probably quit playing

Other RNG systems in other games reward you with all the good in nearly half the time and with more fun. HoW will not be any bigger than TDB. They will use the next few months to hype shit up. Now i might be wrong when it launches, but look at they what promised us and didnt deliver at all. Its disappointment after disappointment with this franchise. Everytime you play its a slap to the face cause the system is designed to prolong your gameplay until they can make money off you with the dlc.

Because it got boring man. The grind makes it's somewhat interesting. But I'm there. I'm done. I have three 32s. All the exotics in the game. I'm just bored. I don't want to do bounties to lvl up gear or guns I don't use, crucible is boring when no one is on. In short. Constant repetition for nothing is BORING.

I haven't quit but I've only logged on a few times in the past 1.5 weeks. This week, I ran the weeklies on Tuesday and logged in Friday morning to grab something from Xur. I've completed my Exotic collection, I have every exotic Xbox offers (weapons and armor), I've got 3 characters 1 of each class all with the best weapons I can get them. I still like the game just right now I'm bored with my options. I love grinding so the repetitive stuff isn't a big deal but I don't really need/want to level anything else up.

My clan almost died in December when most quit. It's seen a resurgence the last few weeks. I do notice it is harder to get hard raids done but normal ones are still easy to get players. The carrot that we all chase is becoming hard to chase as we get closer to having all we want. When shards and crappy weapons are all we are rewarded the incentive to play is demon usher because there really is no reward.

Just burnt out. A lot of us have put tons of hours in this game. I think most will come back for House of Wolves though, I know I will.

1 ReplyI got bored with the game. It was going to be a " ever changing world". With a team of devs working to give us new stuff to do weekly. We were supposed to become legend, not bored. I have the pass, so I will be back. I just got a PS message earlier from friends in the game. We ran some ROCs. I have been playing DAI. I am much happier.

I am bored of destiny atm..... Raid I got everything, RNG won't give me hawkmoon,pvp is..... Pvp. So hopefully HoW will be out soon.

Nowhere near enough loot, only 1 way to max level, repetitive bounties and gameplay are main reasons imo.

Only looked forward to iron banner as inferno hasn't released yet. Yet that became tedious as bad connections make for a poor experience. I want newer faster I guess, could be the same for them. Plus new games come out catch interest for a while. Plus nine of my friends ever played so I've been without from the beginning.
